WHY do you love it??

Despite the many posts with negative taste ( what if there are no jobs when I graduate? I dont like nursing anymore? Is this for me? Feeling depressed) I know there are many many who love this profession and I simply wanted to know the whys for loving being an RN?

I understand that the job market is very hard and things are not easy while in school or out of school, but you know what? We are alive and we got to thank God for this, lets have faith, lets do our part and he will provide, just dont give up =)

So again, why do you love being an RN, being a nursing student? Or love the thought of becoming a nurse?

    I love caring for patients; making a positive difference in people's lives

    I love learning new skills and information that most people can't do or don't know

    I love being on my feet and on the go, not sitting at a desk staring at a screen

    I love that I've found something I'm good at in life

    I love that being an RN will offer me flexibility such as day or night shifts, weekends and holidays

    I love that I can continue my education in nursing for as far as I choose to go

    I love the other people I've met a nursing school

    I love that I am continuously learning

    also, the flexibility and endless possibilities, if i get tired of being on my feet all day, i can certainly find a desk job, if i get tired of acute care, i can try ltc, or a drs office. i can inspect nursing homes, i can become a np, i can work for insurance companies, i can answer phones and give people advice about their diabetes etc.. i can do whatever the heck i want to do. :)
