OK, well, this is my first post so here goes........I just finished taking the NCLEX and when my computer didn't shut off at 75, I about passed out. Then, it shut off after 80 questions!!!!!!! What the HECK does that mean?!?!?!? WHO gets 80 questions???? In my negative mind, all I can think is, I was failing at 75 but they gave me 5 more to say, keep on trying and then I missed those 5 so they said STOP!!!!!!!! Plus, those last few were not very difficult, at least, that's the way it seemed to me. Aghhhhh, this is killing me.OK, OK, so I know many of you have gone through this before, I just had to post because I am so nervewracked!!!!!!!!!
Thanks!!!
The number means absolutely nothing. I passed with 265 questions. Good Luck! Try to relax until you have the results in hand.

This person also shut off at 80 and she passed. Like others have said, I doubt the # of questions mean anything.
This is just my opinion, but I believe that whoever says that a test taker will pass a test with X number of questions is doing a lot of harm to those taking this test.
People pass with 75, people fail with 75.
People fail with 265, and people pass with 265.
And you can have EVERY number in between with simular results. I don't know who says these things ("students will pass with 75 questions"). but they do more damage than good to the psyche of the test taker.
I'll just step down from my soapbox now...
