HELLO nursing world ... its BEA
I am a brand spanking new nurse (LPN) and yes the dreadful question "are you going back for RN" the answers is yes.
I just never could imagine how hard it would be for me to get job. EVERYONE always said the hardest part is getting through a nursing program. LIESSSS !
The hard part is proving to tons of agencies and nursing home, that you got what it takes to get the job done ( in a respectably and safe manner ) !
I just want to know , what I am experiencing ... is it normal ? I thought we NEEDED nurses and were all understaffed etc etc.
I hope I get some good news this week !

I don't know of any hospitals in my area hiring LPNs. You may need to widen your search to different areas.
I did ! Bronx, queens, Brooklyn ... everyone wants 1-2 years experience and I am a new grad ! I tried agencies. I applied with four so far. Maybe after the holidays ?

Most reputable agencies only hire experienced nurses as you get no orientation. NYC has a surplus of nurses. BSN/RN are hired even in LTC. You are not likely to find a NYC metro hospital even consider an LPN due to scope of practice limitations.
Consider private duty (shift home care), long term care, subacute rehab, acute rehab, detox, outpatient clinics.
The need is for experienced specialized RNs especially in critical care. Even new grad RNs are struggling
