Why are Nurses and CNAs so mean/rude
I have to say this is very TRUE ! (depending where you work & your state) The 1 st nursing job I had at a nursing home was horrible ... CNA and LPN, RN,DON all rude !!! I am talking not helping ,when your obliviously a new nurse you need help. Talking down to you .... etc ! Thank God I got a better job and the nurse I work with now is a sweet heart and very helpful !!! Why do we eat our young !!!!!!!!!!

Experience .... question Should I go or stay ?
So I am a new nurse (LPN 3 months in the game ) and I really don't have that much experience. I know in time I will. However I recently got a job at a nursing home and I HATE IT. Not the pt. just the people I work with and the lack of support. I feel like I am drowning and there not life guard around. I do not get payed over time even though I stay 2 hours late documenting. I do not take lunch with is normal but I do not get payed for it. I have no union or benefits. I shared this with a friend who is also a new nurse and she basically told me to put on my big girl panties. I wanted to know if it was normal for me to have 43 pts all to myself to pass out meds , treatments, change doc orders, file medical and answer the phone. She told me she had 50 pt and she gets it all done? She said if I leave the nursing home how will I get experience and when I become an RN I wont be able to get hired. etc I may have the opportunity to leave the nursing home and work at a clinic as a floating nurse with full benefits and they specializes in Allergy and Immunology Bariatric Surgery Cancer/Oncology Cardiology Cardiothoracic Surgery Colorectal Surgery Dermatology Endocrinology Family Medicine/Primary Care Gastroenterology General Surgery Infectious Disease Internal Medicine Liver Diseases Lung/Pulmonology Nephrology Neurology Neurosurgery OBGYN Ophthalmology Optometry Orthopaedics Pain Management and Anesthesia Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine Podiatry Radiology Rheumatology Surgical Oncology Travel Medicine Vascular Surgery Urgent Care Urology So my question is should I go or should I say at the nursing home ?

Why is it so hard NEW GRADS
HELLO nursing world ... its BEA I am a brand spanking new nurse (LPN) and yes the dreadful question "are you going back for RN" the answers is yes. I just never could imagine how hard it would be for me to get job. EVERYONE always said the hardest part is getting through a nursing program. LIESSSS ! The hard part is proving to tons of agencies and nursing home, that you got what it takes to get the job done ( in a respectably and safe manner ) ! I just want to know , what I am experiencing ... is it normal ? I thought we NEEDED nurses and were all understaffed etc etc. I hope I get some good news this week !
