I will be attending Harper college (IL) this summer and was wonder if anyone was taking Human Anatomy this summer. I graduated in 2010 with a MA degree and only worked for a few yrs in the clinic before moving over to the hospital setting. I feel as though my A&P course was not that challenging and passed with A's barely studying. I know this time of round will be different and I excited about my path to nursing.
Anyone taking summer courses? if so, tell us what you have register for?
I am taking Nutrition and (hopefully) A&P 1 this summer. I'm on the waitlist for A&P 1 and have my fingers crossed a spot will open up! I actually already took A&P 1 and 2, but unfortunately my A&P 1 expired so alas, I am retaking.
In the Fall I'll just be taking Microbiology, and then it's time to apply...
I'm taking microbiology and math 127. I'm nervous about 8 credits over the summer, but seeing Jen's schedule makes me feel better about mine! :) We find out if we got accepted for The nursing program the first week of classes, hopefully I don't get bad news or this summer will really be hard to stay motivated.

Haha, I'm glad I could make you feel better :)
I will be attending Idaho state university this summer, I will be taking medical terminology as well as nutrition for health professionals. As a prerequisite for the LPN program you have to get a CNA license which I also will start this Monday April 3. It's a process, slow and steady wins the race:)
reesepc, I had a very love/hate relationship with Harper's program, but it is a good program. Of everyone that I graduated with, only 1 person did not pass the NCLEX on their first try. We were all definitely prepared for it. I moved out of the area shortly after I graduated, but my class has a facebook group and most people had no issues getting a job in a hospital. There are so may hospitals in the area, there are a lot of options. I am currently doing my BSN online with the University of Texas at Arlington. I really like how it is set up. If you have any questions about Harper feel free to ask!
I will be taking Human Development, Nutrition and A&P 1. I have a few sections of A&P 1 so I was able to research on professors teaching each section. Most students who have taken those profs in the past said they were easy As if one studied really hard. I am ok with hard and prefer that over an easy way out. But nonetheless, it is a summer session and 3 courses in 5 weeks is NOT going to be easy.

:nurse:just stay focus and keep your mind set on the outcome you want and you'll get through it. those are some tough courses BUT its so worth it is it not?? looking forward to you updating us that you passed.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US IN SUCCESSFULLY PASSING OUR SUMMER COURSES "with grade we need".

I graduated from Harper's nursing program last year! I am now working on my RN-BSN and have classes all summer. I fortunately will be done this fall though. Good luck to you!
