Who's Taking Summer Courses?

Published

I will be attending Harper college (IL) this summer and was wonder if anyone was taking Human Anatomy this summer. I graduated in 2010 with a MA degree and only worked for a few yrs in the clinic before moving over to the hospital setting. I feel as though my A&P course was not that challenging and passed with A's barely studying. I know this time of round will be different and I excited about my path to nursing.

Anyone taking summer courses? if so, tell us what you have register for?

I am. I'm graduating in May, but have two more classes to finish up, plus another pre-req. I'm taking Govt II, Music Appreciation and Chem II. And I'm squeezing them all into 4 weeks.

Wow. That is an insanely intense schedule. I took micro alone in a 6 week course and it was brutal, but youre planning on taking chem in a 4 week period PLUS 2 other classes? Wooow.

I am! I'm taking A&P II and Into to Nursing and Healthcare Systems. Both courses are 8 weeks long. I also have to study for and take the TEAS over the summer and work full-time. Needless to say, I won't be having much of a summer. lol

Two classes are online, the chem class is lecture only, so I think I'll be okay. Fingers crossed anyway.

oh you are rocking with a full time schedule! Good luck:)

i hear that! I am working full time also. I hate that I just a job that is 8hr shifts vs my 12hrs shift (3x a week) I plan to get up early and study before class. It looks like im take my NlN entrance test in the spring....:/ Good luck on your Teas exam!

Have you been studying for the TEAS? I just scheduled mine for the end of May. The short break I get between graduating and summer classes.

I'm taking psychology along with statistics this summer. The psychology is online and the statistics as night classes.

You'll do fine, albeit, that is a few subjects to cram in a short time.

Good luck!

No, not yet. I'm not planning on taking it until the end of July or beginning of August so I'm waiting until the end of this semester before I start studying. It's mainly the math that I need to review. I took through Calculus IV for my first round of undergrad but it's been about 6 years. And even longer since I took any sort of Algebra. lol

Specializes in Emergency Room, CEN, TCRN.

For the first time in a while, I don't have any classes I need to take over the summer. I took care of all my non-nursing requirements last year before starting last Fall.

I think I'm going to take an ACLS and trauma nursing class this summer if I think my first semester of acute care will prepare me for it, if not maybe I'll take it next summer. I want to have the requirements done to work in the ED out the gate when I graduate with my BSN.

Specializes in ICU Stepdown.

This summer I am taking physiology and nutrition (online) the semester is 11 weeks so I think it'll be doable.
