And what did you think? I took it last week and feel like I was prepared for the Math and Reading portions by using the study guide but I really struggled with the Science portion. For me it was a lot of Chemistry and it's been a while since I've taken that course. I met the minimum requirements in each category for my program but it's the first year they're using the TEAS V (Last year they used the NET) so I'm not really sure what a competitive score is yet. Anyway I know there are different entrance tests and versions of the TEAS everyone is taking so I was just wondering how people felt about version V.
How did you score Jode? I really don't know how to compare scores? My school goes off of a percentage.
Hey CRR,
This is what my results sheet says: Adjusted Individual Total Score: 92.7%
The breakdown is like this.....I got 97.6% on the Reading, 93.3% on the Math, 87.5% on the Science, 90.0% on the English and Language Usage.
My school goes off of a percentage too. What school(s) did you apply to? I know some schools only look at certain portions but mine looks at your total percentage. How did you score?
I scored an 86.0% overall. Reading 95.2, math 93.3, science 60.4 and english 96.7. The science got me LOL...but it's still higher than the national mean of 51.9. I plan to go to Wallace State in the fall. My school's mean score says 64.7% so hopefully I'll get in. 92.7 is GREAT!!! Good job. If you test well, I think this is not a problem. However, I see how some could have trouble if they panic and don't test good.
just like jodeface...i'm studying from the ati v study guide and the mcgraw hill nursing entrance exam prep book. so far i'm liking the mcgraw hill exam prep much better, very insightful, really holds my attention. you guyz sound like you did great,my exam is for feb 12th. nervous nelly, but im sticking with it, i know i can do it! rub some of those awesome grades on me
I'm taking the TEAS reading section on Monday and thats the only section the school I'm applying too needs but everyone says it's extremely hard? but I'm seeing everyone is getting fairly good grades in this post. I have the ATI studyguide and wondering it this is the best review for that section?

I just took my exam today. If all you need is the reading section, I will tell you this...Take your time...Read the question first as sometimes it only asks for certain information regarding certain paragraphs. I won't have my grade for 24-48 hrs but I know the test can be tricky...so ignore the clock...(advice from Jodeface, that really helped me :) and try to focus.
I just saw "The Rite", a movie about demonic possession and exorcism. One of the signs of possession is supposedly knowledge of the unknowable.
Based on my taking of the Reading portion of TEAS, anyone who scored in the 90's on that section is obviously possessed lol.
As I said in a previous post, that section is mostly a guessing game trying to devine the opinion of the test writer on "how many angels fit on the head of a pin" type questions.
Grandpa called out to police conducting an investigation on the other side of the river bank. What was grandpa feeling (anger, apprehension, annoyance, fear, curiosity) indeed. MODS: paraphrased representative question not exact.
Hey ya'll, I ended up with a 77.3% overall on the Teas V. I suppose I'm satisfied considering my program mean is a 68.7% and ranks me 86th nationally. I really studied and gave it my all, I just hope it's good enough for the SCSU program. Does everyone feel my score might sufficient? I'm a little worried...yet relieved. Thanks everyone!

Also Tweety,
I only studied here and there for about 2 weeks using the ATI V Study Guide and the McGraw Hill Nursing Entrance Exam prep book and they were both useful and helped me. I did cram the night before but I don't think that helped too much. Honestly I think you mostly just have to trust your education up to this point, intelligence and logic and the ability to stay calm and not freak out. You have seen all this stuff before and I would compare it to a high school TAKS type test. They just want to know that you are competent.
I heard the lowest that TWU will look at for a TEAS V score is a 64 but the lowest I've heard of anyone getting and still be accepted is the upper 70s. Obviously the test is just one factor and from what I've heard is not the most important one. Those first attempts in the core pre-reqs are the most important according to my advisor at TWU in Denton and then the GPA and TEAS V are equal and a high result on one can balance a low result on the other.
Oh and PS...I totally agree that the ATI study guide DOES NOT cover everything for the science portion. It really should be written much better for science. I was shocked and kind of mad to see all the science questions that I wasn't prepared for.
Don't be scared...I just told you the ones I had the hardest time with...there were many easy ones too...like, what is a hypothesis, duh :) Even though I wasn't prepared enough is still got an 87.5% on the science portion. I took the version 5. Here is the breakdown of how many questions there were for each section of science. I hope I'm allowed to give this to you!
