Hello,
I would like to hear from anyone else who is entering Nursing IV this fall, so we can support each other through this whirlwind semester.
A little about myself--I am in an ADN program in Northern New Jersey. After losing three more students at the end of nursing III, I have to say I am a bit nervous about keeping up with this semester. So for our last semester we are rotating through telemetry, ICU, ER, geriatric nursing and doing nursing management.
Graduation is so close, yet I know there are many trials waiting in this last semester.
So anyone graduating this December?? Tell us about yourself, and maybe we can support each other through this final semester.

Oh, and I'm in an ADN program also in Prince George's Community College in Maryland. I've been at this college thing since June 2002 and am anxious to get it over with for now.

Me too! Count me in. We lost close to 30 from our semester III. I'm hoping the worst is behind us. I don't know how many are repeating semester IV but it's nothing close to that number. I've got a job a thousand miles away, a contract and a sign-on bonus (loan forgiveness money) in the mail so the pressure is on to finish on schedule.
We will have 10 weeks of psych and critical care followed by finals in October, then a 6 week preceptorship of 144 hours. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an ICU preceptorship. On our second day back, we have to take a PreRN exam that determines our future for the semester. Those that do not test well will be sent to a med surg floor rather than critical care.
Christmas :biggringi nurse. Bah humbug, just pin me and get me outta here.

I grew up in NJ. Are you going to CCM or Warren County? I'm at Northampton CC in Bethlehem, PA. Not too far actually.

Good luck to everyone, nice to be "meeting" you all. Lets keep this thread going!! I know I'll need some kindred spirits once the semester starts rolling. I love my fellow students, but you know, we see alot of each other and things can get a little tense sometimes.
Rkittycat, congrats on your job already lined up. Anyone else have a job? When do you plan to start looking if you haven't? I know the three hospitals in my area that I am going to send my resume' into, and I plan to do this in October (will start working in January if all goes well.)
I got my first call back on a job with a level 4 NICU
