I am hoping to start this Fall at Deaconess. I am currently waiting to hear back from the hospital where I want to do my clinicals.... Deaconess said that lining that up should help me get in for the Fall. I really really hope that I get in. Everyone cross their fingers..... I will let you know at the end of March, that is when the decision will be made.

Lisa, I'll be starting in the summer! I can't wait! Amy
Hey Everyone...
I just got a message from Erin Kelly at Deaconess...She said that a Clinical Package is doing out in the mail this week to everyone that has applied for the Summer and Fall programs...This will include a Clinical Manual explaining what DCN expects of its students and the clinical facility. It will include forms, contract information, and a form letter to use when contacting potential healthcare facilities to find a clinical preceptor.
Hope this is helpful!

Is there anyone who has applied that hasn't heard anything from them yet?
Hi Jackie,
The deadline for summer is past, and all the spots are full. You may still be able to get in for the fall semester, which I believe starts in Sept? I would call the school and talk with Erin Kelly. She is wonderful and could help you with your application status. I think in order to get in for fall, you have to prearrange your clinical site, so maybe check on that to be sure.
What lever EMT are you and where to you live? Feel free to pm me if you want.

Do you know of any programs that you can get just your RN online or longdistance? I already have a B.A.

Generally the online programs are RN/BSN completion programs. I think Deaconess allows non/RNs. There are numerous threads on this program. Also Excelsior College allows non-RNs with experience to enroll. This is generally LPNs and EMTs.

Just an update...I got an email from Erin Kelly that she has all my records now and my file is complete and ready for consideration for the FALL 2004. She said the decision letters will be mail out on April 1st....(FINGERS CROSSED) :roll
