Who starts A&P 1 on Monday with Edukan?

Published

I just wanted to see if anyone else out there was taking A&P 1 starting Monday with Edukan.

*Bump*

How is everyone doing so far? I finally got my textbook yesterday and I started reading chapter one last night. I wish I had gotten my books sooner but I was trying to save some money. In the end I got everything for $140 total including shipping instead of paying $151 just for the A&P book from Edukan's bookstore.

So far so good. I actually bought my text book used on ebay for $55, plus $8 for shipping, so I saved a bundle. It came with the body atlas but no CD. I went online and found out I could get the online version of the disc if I needs it. It looks like we won't need it in A&P 1. I also got my lab book & DVD on half. com and payed $40 and $5 for shipping. It appears to be new and I downloaded the dvd with no problem.

Last night I finished the review questions for chapter 1. Completing that assignment definitely helped me understand what I read in chapter 1.

Are you taking any other courses this summer? I am not just taking this one, so I can concentrate and get an "A" :-)

We didn't need that part in AP1, but I think you will for AP2. Goodluck everybody!

Hi Lana,

Quick Question????? I Think I Read On A Different Post That You Had Dr. Simmons In Ap 1. Are You Taking Ap Ii With Him As Well? How Was Your Experience. I Was Registered For His 6 Week Ap1 And After Reading All Of The Post I Decided I Need An "a" So I Should Go With The 12 Week Course.

Thanks,

Yes, I had him for the 8 week AP1, hated him. Unfortunately he's also the teacher for AP2 the session that I signed up for. I was on the waiting list for another teachers 12 week claass, but nobody dropped so i didn't get in. I know some people have made A's in his classes, but to me the tests just don't make sense. Most of the time I was sure that I either had everything right or only missed 1 or 2 but actually made a D on the test. Very frustrating. There is a study guide available that goes along with the book if you're interested. I didn't find it very helpful with his class, but if you're interested I'll get you the ISBN. I got mine used on BN.com (I think). The person selling it had done part of the first chapter and then stopped so the rest of the book was fine. Although I like short classes, the longer classes seem to be better for this reason: in these classes you have a test every week, homework every week, and discussions every week. So in the 8 week class you only have 8 tests to affect your grade, in the 12 week class you'll have 12, which to me gives you a better chance at a good grade. I'm a little scared by the 6 week AP2 class I'm taking!

Just keep up with the reading, and re-read if you can!

Good luck!

Great Advice!!! I am so glad I switched classes. Thanks, I'd love the ISBN for the study guide.

Good Luck in AP II!

As of right now, I'm just taking A&P 1. I might sign up for medical terminology that starts next week at the local cc. That would also be an online course except for exams.

THe ISBN is 0805354646

Like I said, it wasn't much help to me, but it might help you. If you got the new book it should also have an access code to something called MyA&P where you can take quizes. If you got a used book I think you can purchase access to the site for $30 http://wps.aw.com/wps/media/access/Pearson_Default/560/573796/login.html

This online stuff is pretty similar to the paper study guide.

Actually, the first module on the CD covers the nervous system, which will be extremely helpful when you get to those chapters in the book towards the end of the course. After that, you won't need it again until AP2.

Good luck to everyone taking the class!

That is good to know.

Thanks!

Ack! Now I am hating on your because I love a bargain and I wish I had gotten my books that cheap LOL!

I finished typing up the chapter 1 questions last night and I am working on answering them one by one. Maybe by Monday I will be ready to move onto the lab. I am not doing anything else this summer besides this class. I am unemployed right now and almost 26 weeks pregnant. So I am enjoying putting my feet up and relaxing while I still can.
