who has read echo heron? i love her books! her first one is called intensive care: a story of a nurse and the next one is called condition critical. she has authored more but i haven't read them yet. i can't wait to though. she writes all about her time in nursing school and then goes on to write about her years in the nursing field. these books are so heartwarming and inspirational to me. i am not a nurse yet but i am going to read all of her books before i finish school. that's my goal anyway. i don't know anything about the political stuff she writes about, yet, but i look forward to identifying to some of the emotions she goes through in her stories. check out her website: http://www.echoheron.com/index.htm. well, i'm off to read some more. let me know what you think. if you haven't read the first one, treat yourself. :redbeathe

I read her first book many, many years ago. LOVED IT!

I love Echo. 'Tending Lives' was a great book also.

I read her first book many, many years ago. LOVED IT!

I read all her non-fiction medical books  and tried her fiction  .. . .

I too love reading her medical books - but there were some sad stories in there. And as I mentioned, I read her first book right before starting nursing school and that was scary.

Remember though - she went to school waaay back in the 70's. :coollook:

And she sat for a WRITTEN board . .. no computerized NCLEX.

I read Intensive Care. I found it to be very depressing from beginning to end.

I just finished Intensive Care by Echo Heron. Loved it. Very moving, Could not put it down and cried through most of it! It so reminded me of my own experiences attending a three year diploma school at a city hospital in a major mid-western city. What did not ring true and bothered me was how subservient Echo was and calling docs by their first names. I worked ten years in ICU / CCU so it was interesting to see not much had changed in the way of technology 11 yrs. later. I graduated in 1966 and our five state board tests took 2 and a half days to complete! P:)lan to read her other non-fiction books. :)

Echo Heron is my hero!!!
