  1. Thanks for the quick response! Lots more questions, but mind is a blank at the moment. Thanks again!
  2. Go for it! You will love it! I have primarily been an OR Circulating nurse for many years and have been in the PACU almost a year now. I didn't get 6mo. training, and I'm still learning everyday, but I have great support and ask questions all the time. You have a great opportunity. Enjoy your new position and learn all you can from those around you. Don't be afraid to ask what may seem like the most trivial question because you will more than likely learn other things you didn't expect in the process. I'm excited for you!
  3. Thanks so much for all the tips and pics! I am hopefully going in March. Waiting for orders. A few questions: 1. Were you housed off post? I hear we have to share rooms is that right? 2. Do most people use the Camelbak? Necessary? 3. What's with so many wearing sunglasses? Are they prescription? 4. What did you feel was the hardest part? 5. Anybody not make it? 6. What kind of problems did people have with their vehicles needing to be put in shop? Any other tips you can share would be great!
  4. I read her first book many, many years ago. LOVED IT!
  5. Jimmedda, Any suggestions on apartment living? There are so many there! Thanks.
  6. Hey all, I got boarded in October! Planning on going to OBLC in March and then on to CRNA school in June! See you there Keith! Who else is going to OBC in March?
  7. Well, I am hoping to go in March. Still waiting to hear from the board meeting this month. I am really enjoying and greatly appreciate all of the tips and information that is being shared by those who have gone before. Please keep it coming!
  8. This is my first time posting on this site. I have learned so much from all who have contributed. I'm glad JessAnn asked the question. I am an OR nurse with several years experience but started my nursing career in 1990 as a GN in CCU. I felt exactly the same way about 2 months after orientation. I was so scared and unsure I hated to go to work. I wanted to go to CRNA school and that is why I chose to go straight to ICU however, I decided to find a hospital that would train me in the OR to see if the CRNA route was really what I wanted before I continued to suffer in CCU. I quit and have only worked OR (other than a little Home Health part-time) since. Well, here I am several years and three kids later finishing my BSN and back on track to tackle my goal of CRNA. I am about to transfer back to ICU and have had the same concerns JessAnn mentions but I'm hoping my experience as a nurse and years of maturation will help me attain that "Burning Desire" to become a CRNA. Just wanted to thank all of you who have responded here and all the other many who contribute on this topic. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome. Sorry for such a long post!
  9. Hold'em, TLC and Texas Gas, You guys are very encouraging! Where did you apply? Get accepted? I am going to be finishing my BSN May 2008 and was considering applying in Jan 2008 for deadline of program starting in Aug 2008. Problem is I have been an OR nurse for over 10yrs and will just be going to CCU Aug 2007. That would put me at just one year of ICU experience when program starts. As I stated, I would be in my last semester of BSN when application submitted. What do you think? Sunursala
