Who Here Has Worked Their Butt Off???

Who here has worked their butt off doing pre-reques???? I know I have!!! I started February 2013 that's when I did my GED and passed, right after did my accuplacer, and after that in March I started college off with ENGL and MATH the (basic one's.) Then Composition 1, Composition 2, Chemistry, and Psychology; I've passed all classes so far!!! Now am waiting for FALL going to do A&P 1, A&P 2, MICRO, Ethics, and a stupid Student Development Class. I plan on entering the Nursing Program in FALL 2014, but I believe these are all the pre-reques required for entering the Associates Program, so from Spring to Summer 2014 I'ma do my pre-reques for the Bachelor's. But I still can't believe my determination! From getting my GED to doing 11 classes in less than a year, wow I never thought I had it in me by the way, while dealing with 3kiddos!!! So post how hard you've worked too, let's inspire people!!!

I am 18 years old and graduated highschool at age 17. I did my CNA last spring with an A in a 8 week class. This summer I did Anatomy and physiology, Human growth and development, and Psychology in a 8 week course. I got a an A in Human growth and Psychology. I got a high B in A&P 1. This was my first lab class. I was homeschooled all my life. I have 5 siblings. My family is low income so It was always hard to find a ride to school since we needed gas money and I didn't drive. I also kept my part time job. Now I am about to attack the fall classes! The counselors were surprised at what I did. I was the first to pull off the summer classes and get an A with A&P 1 in my community college. I also kept a healthy lifestyle. I worked out and ate healthy. I rode my bike to my part time job due to no transportation. My job was 4 miles away.

I have for sure and they have thrown a curve ball at me after I have finished all my corp with a 3.56 gpa .and accepted in the Rn program you have to take compass and exit .in the summer or you wont get in the summer I was like SERIOULSLEY. of course their fault.

it will pay off I start the nursing program the 12 th keep on keeping on :)

Great job Desi919!!! Great to see homeschoolers thriving in the college environment! Keep up the good work, and keep pushing forward!

I just finished my first year of prereqs AHHHH they're so many I just wanna be in nursing school already but I'm getting through alongside working full time by the grace of God!! So far I've finished Eng101 math 50 and 60 along with music and spanish for fun....my english class was tough my professor is an author the textbook was compiled by him unbelievable. And it's so crazy that theres prereqs for prereqs!!!!! I'm not aloud to just take A&P I have to take basic bio and chem101 first now I know Im supposed to be inspiring but my school is a bit ridiculous probably because its overcrowded but I'm on a steady path. My mind is focused on graduation in 2017 with adn to start my bsn aslong as I get accepted into the program right away. You gotta love community college. Anyways for fall I'm taking elem. algebra, socio101, and bio101 I'm so excited because I know I'm getting more closer to my calling the Lord deals with me faithfully and soon enough i'll be able to say I'm a real nursing student :) best of luck everyone we got this! :)

Yes, those are some ignorant words from your dad! I finally decided to buckle down and get my schooling done a little over two years ago at 28- with five kids! Luckily for me, my wife is very supportive and though I have worked a more-than-full-time job consisting of over 50 hours mon-fri, I still managed two evening classes every semester four nights a week for the past five semesters. Completed all the pre requisites for nursing spring semester this year and applied for the fall 2013 start- and got in! Though my wife and I are going to have a major role-reversal, we are motivated to succeed for the end result. Along the way, it has been difficult. Some people are naysayers who just love to get under your skin and mostly I've contributed this to those who have achieved very little and are just jealous. Hang tough and keep at it, good luck!

I have one more semester of coreqs to do then I apply in December! This fall I'm taking a&p2, micro and math. I'm also taking an LNA course as its required for one of the programs I'm applying to :p

I would like to meet any (pre)-nursing student who can say s/he hasn't worked their butts off. And then ask what drug(s) they are on.
