Who else is starting clinicals in the winter?

No, the class will be in Chile. While it is offered during the regular semester, they also offer it in May -- working in an underserved area -- tho I'm sure they could have found one here in the USA...
The school "discourages" more than 2 clinicals at a time, but I'm out of classes. This is my work-around...and let's me do something that I am interested in doing.

I start also Aug. 16th. Can't wait. Did you start getting the items needed for the class and clnicals?

i kinda sorta have, well just shoes and a wheeled book bag. also, i have stocked up on notebooks (school supplies in general) and a new jumpdrive.

i have to start browsing and comparing prices so that i don't end up running around at the last minute and because money is tight

so basically window shopping at the moment. my husband asked what i wanted for my b-day so i asked him for a good stethoscope. i have my eye on a couple so ultimately whatever (as long as it is of good quality) will suit me :) .

also, we need to give a $500.00 deposit for them to hold our chair, if not you know what that means (will give it to someone else :uhoh21: ).....so i am sure that little by little when time rolls around i should be all set.

so, what is everyone else doing or planning?....share with us.

I am soooo excited. You guys are soooo lucky to have your orientation so soon. My orientation wont be until the first week of
January. I think we start January 13th or something. Im starting at Barry
university in Miami, FL. I hope they would just send me a list sooner on the supplies that I need to get. Im in the process of buying a PDA right now. Ill probably wait until school starts in mid-august because that is when "Dell" will have their back to school sale. I wish I would know which books to get too. I have to take some other classes in the fall too but nothing science related. I finished all those in May. In the falls I'll be taking Bio-medical Ethics(some kind of philosophy), theology(my school is private catholic), and another art/humanities. They have to be upper division classes in the 300 level. oh well. Good luck to all of us!!! I thought i was the only one starting in January too. Good to know i am not alone.

I'm starting my clinicals @ Barry University too. :) I also need to take Bio-medical Ethics, Theology , and Sociology but I'll be taking that with my clinicals. However, I'll take the liberal arts at FIU.... :)

how cool!!!! are you starting the Accelerated program or regular? Im doing accelerated. Im also taking the same pre-reqs as you at FIU!!! except I dont have to take sociology because i already took it at Miami-Dade. You live in the area of Barry. Im 5 minutes from there. This is tooo funny...

I'm doing the 2 year option. I couldn't imagine myself doing the accelerated option GOodluck...I live in south beach :) What are the clinicals you're taking in the Spring term? I also went to Mdc I'm finishing some pre-reqs, but I'll be able to take clinicals in the winter semester.I'll be takingIntroduction to Professional Nursing, Medication Calculation for Nurses ,Pharmacology/Pathophysiology I

See I start in January but the only class they are letting me take is Intro to Professional Nursing and maybe Nursing Research(i think thats what its called). I applied for the 2-year option but she told me that I would not be able to start that until next fall '06 and I did not want to wait that long so Im starting in Jan '06. When are you starting? When will you take your classes at FIU? I still have to go register there as a non-degree student than show proof of my shots(make sure i dont have any diseases hehehe). Registration opens 1st week of August so i have to wait until than. What about you?

I also begin classes this coming January. I live in Connecticut but will be attending school in Massachusetts, it's not that far away-the school that is. I have been on the school's waiting list for three years. I wasn't suppose to start until the fall of 06 but the school called me the beginning of June and asked me if I wanted to start in Jan. I jumped at it!!

I received a letter saying I will be starting my clinicals in the fall of 06 since I wasn't finish with my pre-reqs , but when I went to see my nursing advisor they told me I can start this Spring once I finish my pre-reqs such as ( Bsc2086 I'm taking it right now (summer), and Chm1033 since they don't accept chm1045 urgh)

That's is great. I will be perfoming clinicals at Saint Francis Hopital in CT :)
