Who is applying into George Mason Traditional program for fall 2015

U.S.A. Virginia

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to start this thread, so that prospective applicants to the nursing program can share our ideas and journey.

Thanks:)

I use to go to Alexandria campus but not anymore, now am at springfield for bio 150 which is microbiology. If I would take chem, I would go for chem 101. Am not sure I can do chem 111. But thanks for the recommendation tho. I think you should take soc 201 i think thats much easier. DIT 121, you can take janet sass, i took her online class and it was really good and somewhat easy. Rel 100 you can take J Sound. I took his class online and that was good too, but there is alot of work involved. However, i think if you qualify for GAA they should be able to waive some classes for you. I was suppose to take ARTS 100 but I wouldn't because GAA can waive it for me.

I think you should be fine on getting your results. I got mine that day, but they said it could take a few days. I am so nervous, I've talked to some people in classes, and this semester is going to be a tough selection for mason! I think I'm going to suck it up and apply to UMD as well; because thats really the only other school I would want to go to. Good luck to you guys, hopefully it'll be easier than previous years!! hehe. But the hesi wasn't super challenging, especially the math. But the a&p is the tough part, so don't waste too much time on it because the test bank for questions is HUGE!!! Work on what you have the most trouble with:) AND KNOW YOUR CONVERSIONS!!

Thanks, Neen04 But lets be positive and pray we get in at Mason, atleast we can only do our best

Attended the last info session and had my transcripts evaluated!

Hi lanekone,

how did it go? And what other things did they say?

They were going over PowerPoints. Then people asked questions. A lot of questions were about HESI. Seems like a lot of people are terrified of it ))

I asked about the video. They don't want videos be longer than 3 minutes, and it will be strictly enforced.

The instructions are posted here BSN Video Requirements - BSN Admissions - College of Health and Human Services

But the questions to address in the video/essay aren't posted yet.

The transcripts evaluation was an opportunity to ask questions about the program and admission. The evaluation itself did not answer questions regarding GAA. I was told to check if my math course is gonna count for quantitative reasoning even though this course is listed on the grey sheet (list of prerecs) they provided.

I'm planning to visit again, but going to visit the Admissions office.

ohh ok, so nothing new. what math did you take?

166, 173, and 241

Ohh ok, hopefully they take 163 and 173. but I read somewhere that 241 can satisfy both quantitative reasoning and statistics.. I am not really sure.

I sent them my transcripts sometime in September, and they finally got back to me. I'm only missing Nutrition, Religion, and Art (math is ok). Both REL and ART can be waived with GAA, but I'm gonna take one of these humanity courses anyway to get the AS.

Went to Shenandoah in Winchester and Shepherd, WV today and visiting Marymount tomorrow (back up!)

..and passed my CNA exam!

Hi lanekone,
