We are required to wear white at our hospital. I'm looking for different (cute) tops - it seems they all look so similar! Any suggestions? Also, any hints on removing stains (blood and betadine) and keeping them White? They get so dingy after a few months! Thanks ya'll!!

my mom always told me to use peroxide on the blood. It does work.

You ready for how to launder whites?

Immediate Stain Stick or anything like it on bad spots. Peroxide works, then Stain Stick.

Wash in cold water with Tide and OxiClean. Before the rinse, wash again in hot. Another rinse. NO BLEACH. It yellows them.

If you can find it, buy blueing. A couple of drops in a huge glass of water - it will stain anything it touches so dilute it before adding - when the first wash is loading.

A capful of Downy in the final rinse.

It's a pain, but it works. And you look CLEAN.

Cherokee has a lot of cute white embroidered tops. I have about 10 that I have bought within the last year.

On the same topic of white scrubs does anyone know what brand is the thickest? I live in the middle of no mans land so I do all my shopping online. Hoping someone has some suggestions!! :) Thanks!

There's a Cherokee line out there called "can't see through me." Also, Walmart's Simply Basic brand is a nice, heavy fabric. Free with site-to-store. They run big.

Thank you so much for the info!!

NO bleach???? I wear a lot of white and I am a bleach fanatic...I know it shortens the life of the clothing though but I am known for my whites always being bright my son wears a lot of white t's and people are always shocked at how white they are because he is only a year and a half...Im glad to hear that oxi clean works well I have considered trying it so know I will! I too wear white scrubs...Might I suggest carrying a tide pen I couldnt have made it though nursing school without it those uniforms were so expensive that I did everything I could to keep them in good condition. I am shopping for white scrubs right now for my new job....geesh I was hoping to get to the hospital that wears ceil blue!

Don't forget, when you wear white, always wear underwear that matches your skin color. Do not, I reapeat, DO NOT wear white lace panties under white scrubs.

I live where there is alot of iron in the water. So I would like to thank the one who decided that we should wear white pants. However Iron out is my new best friend. keeps them sparkling white, well they really dont sparkle, but you know what I mean. lol You can buy it at Walmart in the cleaning section, not where the laundry soap is for some reason.

UniformAdvantage.com has a line called "Butter Soft". They are both thick and soft!! I love 'em. They do tend to run a little big. And the prices are good, too!
