Yup, definitely not California, Arizona, or any of the west coast.
I think some of the more rural states have more opportunities? Maybe Kentucky or West Virginia? That's what I have heard anyway.
I think you're smart to be willing to relocate to get a job. It's not forever, but it will give you the experience you need. Good luck to you!
Hi ~
Thanks for this posting. I live in the Seattle area and am a new grad. Do you happen to know where in WA the jobs for new grads are? Seattle doesn't have a whole lot to offer right now and there are very few in Tacoma as well. I am willing to drive quite a distance so I thought I would see in what the situation is like in the rest of the state. Thanks for any information you can provide!

Ha,....one person in a chat room said the west coast was good for nurses? Experienced RN's maybe. Most new grads are unable to find jobs because many new grad programs are cut and many retired RN's are coming back to work. If you look at the state forums for washington/arizona/california you can see how many new grads are desperate for jobs. As the other poster said. Refer to the top thing that says "anyone hiring new grads anywhere in the country?" it's a very long thread in regards to where there is job opportunities and where there isn't.

I don't mind relocating to find a job.I heard that employment is very slow for new grads.
