So, Ive recently applied to two different nursing schools in hopes that I get into at least one of them. But, although unlikely, I may get accepted to both. With this in mind I would have to make a decision. One school, I feel has the better program, it is also at my place of employment. If accepted, I could sign a contract to stay employed two years after graduation and they will pay the full tuition. But, the down side to this is that I would have to leave my current m-f dayshift position for a part time second shift position. The pay cut would definitely hurt me and my family. My other school option would be through the local community college. It is a part time program that would allow me to work the majority of my hours in my current position. I don't feel that this program would be as good(my sister-in-law attended, among a few of my other friends who did not have the nicest things to say about the program.) This concerns me. I have been in healthcare for many years(I'm currently 38) Would going to a lesser renown nursing program be a horrible decision if it is more financially convenient for myself and my family? Or, should I choose the better, tuition free program and possible struggle financially for the two years?

I recently graduated from a local community college. Four job offers to date and two potential job offers incoming. No student debt. Go for the community college.
