I have Psychology, A&P I and A&P Lab, and English.

I find A&P to be the hardest. In your opinion tell me if it is better to study the hardest subject first or the easiest.

I find A&P to be the hardest, Psychology not so hard, and English= okay not a piece of cake but easy

Which should I study 1st.?

What worked/works for you?

The hardest?

The easiest?

I'd appreciate any opinions, or comments.

Thank You!! :)

I banged out my easiest pre-requs first. I got in the study mode and got A's, which gave me the incentive and morale to work hard when the work got alot harder.

I did the opposite. I knocked out the hardest (to me) and now working on what I enjoy the most (easiest to me). I too got A's but now an a bit more relaxed and get to spend more time here. :roll

As for studying.......I start with the hardest also and then the easiest.

I took A&P and psych first and then switched schools and found out that I had to take patho as a pre-nursing student and was so happy that I had finished those two others so I took english and patho together and patho is TOUGH!!

I think the OP is speaking of studying for these classes currently. Not what should she take when.

Realistically, you shouldnt have to study each subject each day. I have a/p on Mon/Wed and psyc on Thurs. On Thurs and Fri I do the majority of my psyc, then re-read on Wed night. The rest, sun/mon/tues/sat/sun is a/p... Psyc is mainly reading in my class, so it's not that intense as a/p.

I could not do both one after the other though, as I'd get confused as to whats what LOL But I can chew gum and walk.

Good luck

I start with A&P and use the other classes for breaks in studying. I'll study A&P, take a break and study psych, then go back to A&P.

If I'm sitting down and have easy work in a couple of classes and hard work in one I'll often knock the easy stuff out of the way first. This let's me really concentrate on the hard stuff without anything hanging over my head distracting me ("I've got to stop at some point and do that stupid psych worksheet!!!!")

Although, I know people who choose to knock the hard project out of the way first so they can coast through the rest of it with the sweet relief of knowing the difficult stuff's already done. This actually sounds better to me but for some reason I can't make myself work that way. To each his own I suppose.

My first term of nursing school I had psych, computers and nursing. Nursing was obviously the difficult stuff. What I did was reserve two hours each morning (5:00 to 7:00) to work on psych and computers. The rest of my life was devoted to nursing.

I am taking A&P I & Human Growth & Development currently. I try to study both each day and it just depends on the mood I'm in. To me, HG&D is more challenging - I really enjoy it, but it is harder for my brain to absorb - so if I'm in a "fuzzy" mood, I pick up my A&P book, but if I'm really feeling tuned to learning, I do the HG&D. Of course, deadlines make a different - A&P deadlines are more quick-paced, so sometimes I will set the HG&D aside to study that. If I have my choice, I will study the tough stuff first and leave the more enjoyable stuff for last - makes me feel good when I'm done studying. :D

Hi April,

I took Nursing, A&P and Dev. Psych at the same time 2 semesters ago (hard, but it can be done). Those of us that did that, had to pass all of them to stay in the Program, but Nursing was the hardest and most important, so that was my main focus.

My brain can only focus on (1) test at a time or it gets too confusing - so this is how I did it. We always have Nursing exams on Monday - so the "entire" weekend would be devoted to studying for only that. If we had an A&P or Psych test later in the week, I'd start studying for those Monday night after the Nursing exam. Unlike the Nursing exams that require critical thinking - A&P is very cut and dry (only 1 correct answer) and studying for that subject is a lot of memorization. Our A&P book came with a great CD that helped a lot - if your book has one, use it, I think it'll really help you study. Our psych tests were mostly based on our lectures (a lot of it was common sense) and if you paid close attention in lecture and skimmed through the book a few days before a test, you could make an "A".

I hope this helps. Good luck to you. Sue

Are these classes prerecs or corecs? If you are taking them with your nursing class, as I did, then do the hard ones (A&P) first because your nursing will get very hard as you go on. I had fundamentals, Med Surg, and OB as my first three semesters but now I have cardio and Respiratiory and I couldnt imagine having A&P now too. I do have Micro now, but it isn't nearly as demanding as A&P (Memorize all your muscles and bones!) Good Luck!
