Where do you see yourself in 5 years??? Do you think you will...
1. Stay where you are in the same position.
2. Get more education and advance up the nursing career path.
3. Get more education and leave nursing.
4. Leave nursing regardless of education.
5. Other.
Well, let me see....In about 5 years I would like to have given birth to a child. Unfortunately, I won't be able to afford to be a stay at home mom, although that would be what I would WANT to do, so I'll still be a nurse but maybe only 2 or 3 days a week. Eventually, I would like to be working in Labor and Delivery/Postpartum. That is my dream job. I've been a nurse for almost 4 years now and I'm about sick of med surg and working with the elderly!
Could be a few answers here. I have considered obtaining a nursing home administrators license and I am now starting my original business again as a farrier and horse trainer and consultant.
I used to love my job as a nurse, now it is usually stressful. I still enjoy being a nurse but I would like to actually do more bedside nursing as opposed to passing pills and charting. To once again be surrounded by satisfied staff would also be nice.
I really enjoy training horses even though I am much smellier and my muscles usually hurt everywhere when I go home, the apathy is missing and the horses dont treat me like some kind of slave at a resort.

Hmmmm....
I have a few scenarios here.
I could stay exactly where I am at, although maybe lose one per diem job, and hopefully be doing some prenatal education coordination at this brand new clinic dedicated to Women's Services....
OR
Be up and around as a traveler, seeing everything I wanted to see, taking advantage of the shortage so it doesn't take advantage of me......
OR
Returning to school for my MSN and working towards becoming a professor.
