What type of program are you in, what year/semester/class are you in, and where are you doing clinicals this semester?
I'm a second semester Associate's student in my first med-surg class (out of 2) doing clinicals at the hospital my school is affiliated with. My first half of clinicals (7 weeks) will be in an orthopedic floor, and in all likelihood, my second rotation for the semester will be on a med-surg floor since that's where most of our instructors work outside of teaching.
What about you?
Fifth (and last) semester of an ADN program. No idea where clinicals will be this semester! We don't start school until the 18th and we will be lucky if they tell us then! They might not tell us until right when clinicals are about to start (that's what happened last semester, as I recall). All I know is that we will have a med-surg rotation, an OB rotation, and some preceptor experiences that will vary. For the preceptor thing, we had a choice of 3 different areas, such as clinic, ER, ICU, home health, etc., and they will try to schedule each of us for 1 of our choices. I think that's how it will work. I think it's a scheduling nightmare for them so we will probably not know right away.
Second degree student in BSN program. Second semester of program. Classes include research methods, mental health, pathophysiology, and acute care. Clinical rotations are not yet assigned, and I believe the faculty doesn't know. Will include between 10 and 12 eight hour days in a hospital setting for the acute care class. We don't have psych clnicals. Classes start tomorrow with a "skills review." Joy! (sarcasm)

In my fifth (and final!) semester of a five semester ADN program. I will spend two weeks doing Community clinicals (hoping to get hospice experience with that one), four weeks of Critical Care (SICU, MICU, CCU, and hopefully ER), and four weeks Management on some random Med Surg floor.
