When Will I Know?!?!?

Okay I am expecting an acceptance/rejection letter anytime now and i am sooooo antsy. What i would like to know is, is there a certain type of envelope an acceptance letter comes in and a certain one a rejection letter comes in? I dont want to expect to get accepted and then open up and read the letter and actually read that i was rejected. So can anybody out there shed some light on this matter?

I was recently accepted to a RN program and just as a previous poster stated they don't send out acceptance or denial letters via regular mail. I received it through my college email address and our status would change online. Not sure if you are able to ask the school you applied to but my school informed us when we dropped off our applications that we would be notified if we were accepted/denied to the program no later than 30 days from the application deadline. If you are able to obtain some type of notification time frame from the school I think it will help ease your mind a little. Although I knew the time frame of when I would be notified I still checked my status online and email every day...lol. I wish you luck on getting accepted!!!

Our school sends official letters still. Last fall mine was a normal sized one pager. This spring it was still a regular envelope, but thick! I obviously got in, and knew it as soon as I saw it! It was 4 pages, with a bunch of info that I need to get in. Good luck! I'm still grinning about mine and I got it in April!

My acceptance letter was in a big, thick envelope. Right when I saw it I knew I had gotten it :) Also, they sent out the rejection letters first and some people in my microbiology class had gotten them already. My acceptance letter didn't come until about 2 weeks after that.. I know how hard it is to wait! Try to stay calm & good luck!!! :)

I got my acceptance letter today and it was thick! I had also heard about thick and thin envelopes and I thinks its true! Good luck!!

When I got my acceptance letter it was the same size as the rejection letter from the previous semester. The only difference was there was a smaller paper inside that I had to fill out and send to the RN program to let them know if I wanted the spot or not. Good luck:)

My acceptance letter was in a thin regular envelope. Then a big packet came a week later with instructions and information. It really just depends on the school. Good luck! :)

Aaaahhhh thanks for the responses everyone my heart is beating faster and faster with every post i read!!! So i did call the school (for the umpteenth time lol) and they said letters will be mailed out by the end of May and if we do not hear anything by the end of the first week of June to call them  so any day now...ill keep you updated even if i did not get accepted (*knock on wood!!)

I found out via logging on to my account on the school's website and saw my status had changed from "application completed" to "application accepted." Then I got an e-mail from the school saying I was in and to schedule my orientation. A few days after that I got a phone call follow up. It wasn't until about 2 weeks after I knew I was in that I got a packet in the mail, 8.5x11 size.

It honestly depends on the school. I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask the school what to expect whether you're accepted or rejected.

Needless to say, when I was rejected I received an envelope with three papers. They were placing me on a wait-list and wanted to know if I was okay with waiting. When I finally got accepted by the nursing program of my choice, I received the same sized envelope. All I remember was my heart pounding when I saw where it came from. I think I sat for a good 10 minutes before convincing myself to open it. When I slowly pulled the envelope out, all I saw was "CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR ACCEPTANCE!" I screamed and showed my Dad. He said, "Oh, you also got an academic scholarship..." I almost died! I was so pumped that I got accepted and didn't read the rest of my letter. A couple days later I received a LARGE packet with all of my new Nursing Student information.

Best of luck!!!

wow what a process: website, email, call AND the envelope. All we're getting is an envelope wish i had a click of a button online to see if i was accepted or not...but then again hard copies also look good lol
