In the Fall 2004 semester, I failed my hospital clinical site and recieved a failing grade. I was in the first semester. In the Spring 2005 semester, I went to a new nursing school hoping for a fresh start. In the past 2 weeks I did extremly well in my theory exams. I am one of the top 3 students in grades BUT in my lab check offs, I am behind too much and I am just too far gone to catch up. :crying2:
:crying2:
:crying2: Instructors are looking at me as incompetent/weeding me out. It is common for them to do that and it hurts me to see that.
:crying2:
I know that you are thinking, I am just a failing student and I am a casuality but you know failing students do try to be a nurse but it just does not happen for some reason...In the Fall 2004 semester, I gave it my best vert best effort and still failed...This semester, I tried also but things did not work out right..
Good bye all.. :crying2:
:crying2:
:crying2:
And when you seeing missing students in your class, think well of them because some of them gave it their best effort like me but it just did not work out..
:crying2:
It felt very bad when an instructor passed me up from a check off because I did not perform a skill right on the first attempt.:crying2:
:crying2: Also, a different instructor told me today, that I am struggling. The funny thing about it, is that I know I can do these skills competently if it was in a different environment...I could not take how the instructors were treating me so I decided to throw in the towel to save my dignity..
:crying2:
:crying2: I hope I made the right choice..
:crying2:
I was behind in two check offs and everyone else was finished..
The thing with nursing is that you need to be able to perform in all kinds of environments. Good luck to you! I hope you find a career that you will love and excel in.
Sad,
I have 3 words for you "Don't GIVE UP!!!"....... if being a nurse is your destiny...quitting is not an option. I do know how you feel, last semester I worked sooooo hard (as we all do)...I passed the Clinical and Lab. Skills portion of the course but I didn't pass the Lecture/Theory portion...by 2 measly points. I too can't understand why that happened, I know this stuff backwards and forwards....I do know one thing....I am not going to give, I am going to become a RN and a Neonatal NP.....I will, I will, I will....and this is how you should feel. Maybe it's the way the program is being run, I don't know....but you can definitely do it...you made it this far....you can make it the rest of the way.
Hugs,
Fatima

sometimes we need to decide what we really want in our lives...maybe if you took it one step at a time you might achieve a better result
take a cna course..you might be already qualifed for certification...go from there tp lpn...if you are now in a class with experienced hospital workers you are going to be struggling just to stay even and eventually you will lag behind
while you are not in school study on your own A&P--PHARMACY--NUTRITION--MED TERMS...anything that you can study without going to class..when you are ready to go back to the college level you will be more prepared and more confident in yourself
Wow, I just read all of her posts and Wow. Yeah. Thank God there are instructors who won't pass you if you're incompetant.
And if I ever become this freakin' depressed about nursing, I think I need to change my job! I'm excited to be learning all this stuff! And I do agree that this is most likely a troll
A Victim? When you are past up on skill check-off, what do you mean? in my school you have 3 chances to pass that skill or you are out of the program. Is it like that for you. I know that in my school there are instructors that WILL weed you out if they desire to do so. I fully believe that we can make or break your self in nursing school. But there are many instructors that feel that a person may not be a good nurse and weed that person out. It has happened at my school more than 6 times. Of course, we have had many students drop out. I have had a instructor tell me that I was too sensitive and I need to get 'hard' in order to be a great nurse. Every time we have an exam, I seem to do poorly in her class but great in all the others. And we are not allowed to see our exams... there has to be something fishy about my program.

You're not allowed to see your exam? Most schools do have a policy on that. At ours when can make an appt. to review it with an instructor. After that, they are held for 3 weeks and then put through the shredder. I'd check your school's policy!
I agree~ I just read all of "sad's" previous posts as well and the only thing that I am sure of is that it seems that she brought this all out on herself. No kidding she didn't know what was going on during check-offs when she doesnt even know if she is in her last four weeks of lpn school???? or just the first four weeks of the beginning????? I had a classmate that was asked to leave last semester because she acted like sad did. She was sure that everyone was out to get her and that the teachers hated her but she also refused to stay up late at night to do her homework because she was "tired" and during clinicals she would ask me to come into her pts. room and then she would do NOTHING and make me do what needed to be done cause she would just stand there staring at me. So she would get credit and I would just feel shafted cause I now had her pt and mine as well. We had some horrible fights in post-conference that semester. I am actually thankful that there are some faculty out there who have the courage to not pass those individuals who are deemed unsafe and who are unwilling to try harder. In the beginning I felt bad for "sad", but after reading all of her posts...I'm just moving on to another subject...peace
I have been reading previous Posts by OP. I am so confused. In one of the posts it said she was in her final week and then it turns around and says she is on probation. Very confusing and not very honest!
That's why I have heretofore avoided this thread like the plague......I'm familiar with this poster from previous threads along the same vein (oh, poor, pitiful me), and I'm afraid all of you are wasting your time trying to make her feel better. This is someone who is either jerking our chains or who really believes people are out to 'get' her......in either case, I hope for the sake of humanity that this person NEVER becomes a nurse while in her present frame of mind.
