Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she remembers a patient that named her child Placenta. I couldn't believe it that some child has to live his life named after disgusting afterbirth!
Howdy, a little boy.
I had one that the nurses told her she couldn't keep adding letters, because it wouldn't fit on the birth certificate. She put a whole bunch of names together, and couldn't pronounce it herself. She had to show us the paper it was written on, a paper towel:jester:. They were calling him....Trey.
Now why didn't she just name him that?:chuckle
My oldest daughter is Miranda, we too wanted something that was not overly common, but not hard to pronounce/spell, and to make sure there were not five girls with the same name in her class. We named our second daughter Mikayla and now we're trying to come up with a third M name because I"m 22 weeks pregnant with my third girl. Any suggestions?Tonya
How about Marie, Melissa, Michelle, Margaret, Martha? I know they aren't as original as some of these posts, but not really common anymore. We see a lot of names in our NICU, and I haven't seen any of these in a long time. Years in fact.
Congratulations, and good luck with your baby!!!!!

Thank you. We are thinking of Melody Michelle (my 3 1/2 year old's favorite)
I dont know if this is all over the country or a regional thing but here in Ny alot of people have these unique names like
1. Ur Magisty .. hence when the teacher calls on this child its the child who is king.
2. Coworker just named her child Shamagregoria (hubby and wife name) middle name miracle.. (I know I dont have the spelling accurate but it is close.)
Whatever happened to Jane, sue , robert, bobby??? LOL

I think that's a good one, its not very common, either. Pretty.

Amen, give me a good old-fashioned name, with in reason. Nowadays, it won't be very common either. With all the made up names people are using.
The weirdest name I have come across was a little boy named Grinnen Barrett!
what about the name FRIDAY is it weird? better than troubles huh.!
I went to high school with a girl named Tuesdee.
