Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she remembers a patient that named her child Placenta. I couldn't believe it that some child has to live his life named after disgusting afterbirth!
my chemist daughter wants to name daughters "Ethyl" and "Ester"!!![/quoteMaybe Ester's first name could be Polly?
In just two years of OB nursing I have heard of one pt that wanted to name her daughter Meconium but one of our nurses talked her out of it, she named her A'Blessing, same pt had another child (6th baby) I m unique (it was spelled a lil bit different but pronounced that way)(Mom's name was Spring btw), had one name thier son Shadow, another with 3 girls Sailor Pirate, twins-Stormy Dawn and Sienna Day, one name their daughter Desire (just get her stripper clothes now) and I am sure there are more but I just can't remember. I need to start writing them down. It just gets worse and worse!
(Oh and I swear on my life that all these are true....including the woman wanting to name her daughter Meconium)
If anyone has seen the Seinfeld episode, my step brother literally named his daughter Seven. Can you believe that?!
Also, my cousin's name is Lake. I don't know what my aunt was thinking with that one either.

I have taken care of a baby girl named Seven. My daughter also has a close friend (whom I have met) with a boy named Seven. Neither one was familiar with the Seinfeld episode when the kids were named.
I know a Tuesday and she was not born on Tuesday...
We have had Morning Glory, Espn (pronounced espen), and Cinderella
What is up with nevaeh?!?! So tired of that...everyone thinks they are the first to come up with it and its sooo orignal and cute:anbd:
Yeah I know....Nevaeh haven't heard that one before....LOL

Well that's understandable, cause it's actually not a bad name (IMO), but my Step brother did it because of the Seinfeld episode!
We had a Tuesday, she was born on Tuesday, but so was her twin brother and he got a perfectly normal boy name (don't remember it, but it was normal).
I came across sisters named Chanel, Fendi, Gucci, and Versace. And no, they weren't French nor Italian.
And surprise, the mom was quite the materialistic woman.
