hello, i am 27 years old and live in brooklyn. a few years ago i attended medgar evers college, my major was nursing . right before the semester started i was in car accident and ended up with a broken arm. anyway, being that nursing is my life long dream i pushed myself to attend classes every day, but the pain that i endured daily did not allow me to continue. so i withdrew officically, now a few years later wanting to return to school and finish the program the school is telling me that i owe money and i cannot return until these monies are paid to them. i want to do this so bad and be able to take care of my family, i have an 8 and 6 year an a 3 month old. i have a supporting husband who works as a plumber. i want this so bad ii can taste it, is it too late ? what do i need to do to get into an lpn program? should i brush up on my math? someone please help thank- you in advance.

The first thing I would do is clear up the debt that you owe to the school. Then I would review the schools admission policy to see what you should do next. Maybe make an appointment to talk to the admissions counselor. They probably can walk you through the process. Good Luck! I sure you can do it!

You can check out Learning Centers like BOCES for LPN. The only thing you have to do is take an entrance exam and its fairly basic. Once you land a job as a LPN I am sure it would be much easier to pay that debt off. LPN school is not a walk in the park and there is a lot of HW and tests almost everyday. But if you want it bad you can do it. My sister and I went to LPN school together. She has 2 kids and a husband and home. She did it and so can you.

I go to a part time LPN program. It is 2 to 3 days a week for two years, but it is easier on me since I have four children. A program like that might work for you also since your children are young.

the first thing you need to do is set up a payment plan for the money you owe, talk to your school and see if they would work with you and see if maybe as long as you make your payments they would let you attend their nursing program. i too want to be a nurse so bad that i can taste it!!! i have to wait until fall 2008 or fall 2009 to start nursing school!!! and it is never too late to go back to school and it is definitely never too late to go for your dream, i am 31 yrs old with two kids and i am going back to school to become an lvn then go back to school and become an rn. i hope that everything works out and get to go back to school ok:):):)keep us posted!!!

yes brush up on your math. my program coordinator said the majority of the applicants fail the math section and you need to pass it to get into the program. you can buy a math refresher or the whole "entrance test review" or something. everything will be there, reading comprehension, math, spelling, etc.. and it is never too late or too old to go back to school. right now, i have a 62-year old classmate and doing very well.

i just want to say i think it is never too late. i went to lpn school with a gal that was at least 65 years old. she got a night job right after school working at one of tacoma's hospitals. you'll regret it if you want it this badly and you don't do it. talk to the school and find out what is your step, and take it from there.:balloons:
