Whats the most money you made in a year? Fun thread

Published

This is just a fun thread....Just curious as to the most money you have made in a year as a nurse in terms of gross pay, and what was your title.

Specializes in ICU.

$120,000 as a bedside Rn working 48- 60 hrs/ week in 2008 when they paid nurses a 15/hr bonus for picking up the 4 th shift plus paid the time and half. so it was base pay plus OT plus $15.00/hr.

Specializes in LTC.

45K, FT LPN as a NG.

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

Last year I earned $72,000. I was an LPN/LVN for the first six months of that year, then I got my RN license in May and secured my first RN position in June. Starting in July, I began working two jobs.

Well, my first paycheck was $861.69 for the first two weeks I worked PT as an LPN. Doesn't sound like much but it was $ I earned as a nurse so it was extra sweet to me!! GRIN

Specializes in FNP.

I made 120K in my one year practicing law. I have never made even half that as a nurse, lol. I think my highest income in the past 10 years was bout 36K. Usually it is about 18-20k.

I'm curious why the switch from Law to Nursing?

Specializes in FNP.

#1 I don't want to work that hard.

#2 I married the senior partner and had to leave my firm, lol.

My post wedding plan was to go to nursing school so as to do malpractice law, but we had a passel full of kids instead and I just decided to stay home. I occasionally do some legal nurse consulting, but law is pretty boring. It is never as exciting as TV, lol. Nursing is at least sometimes as exciting as TV. ;)

Specializes in Hospice.

Well, I have two highest paid amounts. Last year $84000 working as a hospice nurse. But when I worked as a travel nurse for NurseChoice I had an assignment that would have been $112000 a year if I had stayed the whole year, that is without including my housing, which they paid for.

Specializes in Corrections.

Newly graduated in May...working as a per-diem relief RN. I've worked a grand total of 2 days since I passed my boards last month; that said, the most I ever made in a year was about $31k as a soldier (deployed overseas in 2000.)
