What's the funniest most unusual baby name?

Nurses Humor Nursing Q/A

As many of you know by now, Kim Kardashian had her baby. As if you couldn't miss all the annoying coverage over every single detail. They named that poor kid North West. What are some of the funniest/weirdest/most unusual baby names you have seen? Could be a patient or someone you know in your personal life. And if you are someone with one of those odd names did you just learn to live with it or would you change it.

So as a nurse in L&D I quite often get patients and family members who ask about the weirdest names I’ve ever heard/seen.. is discussing this with them a HIPAA violation? Obviously no other information is shared, but I’m just curious where this falls when it comes to HIPAA.

I doubt it's HIPAA. But you never know. Ask your facility's HIPAA Officer.

DaMoné (da money)

Reminds me of the skit in Mel Brooks' History of the World Part I, when people pronounce the Count's name "de money", and he corrects them, "de mo-NAY".

"NGC" (pronounced 'knock)... a fairly common name in Vietnamese culture.

Dorcas was actually used quite often before it had the connotations it does now. I've met several of them. They're usually 60+

I went to high school (graduated early 1970s) with a girl whose mother was named Dorcas. She was a justice of the peace, and for many years she sponsored a Christmas toy drive for underprivileged children in her district. After her death, the daughter carried it on with her mother's name still attached to it.

Two babies I've had that are really memorable, although we have had MANY, are Tractor Ford and Jewelry Cash ?

My mom name on her birth certificate is Flossie Mae. The story was that she said my grandmother was dumb enough to accept $20 if she gave her baby that name. My grandmother was about 17 when she had my mom.

My mom, never went by Flossie and used the name the first name Dorothy. Yes, as a bratty kid I did tease her at times when I was younger.  Anyway she got her RN license, joined the military, married, and had kids all while using her acceptable name.

Well 60 plus years later when she went to the DMV to renew her license and get that new REAL license, they told her unless she gets an official name change Flossie will have to be on her license.  Mom, was pissed saying "I've been using Dorothy for 60 ? yrs ( you get the point)!"

She had to pay $750, the cheapest in my state for her name change. She never told my  grandmother, because she said she was old and it would upset her.  She didn't like shelling out that $750.

I looked it up on average it is $150 to $450 for name change. I remember my mom saying that, but you have to do all the filing and other things too like announcing in the paper of your name change???? Basically its a process. So for a lawyer to do all that it was $750. Guess a greedy lawyer could of charged more.

Looks like California has the highest filing fees. That's JUST the filing fees.
