Hey guys do you get to choose the color of scrubs that you're wearing or does it depend on which department of hte hospital you work at?
Can I buy white scrubs if I love the color?

Oh lol
Yeah I was thinking that there would be that problem with white :)
I'd have to get a lot of sets of scrubs to change everyday :)
It's just nice to know that I have a choice.
I liked the white pants and lab coat policy we had in the medical office. I too wore professional type shirts and jewelry and did receive more respect. Now it teal green pants, tops, and jackets tho the jackets can have either of the two color combo brushstrokes designs. ICK, HATE IT, and I have to buy my own. I hated this hospitals dress code so much, I was starting to base my decision to not work there on it. O WELL.
I wearing having to wear scrubs again after 4 years working in jobs where we wore street clothes. I am glad I hadn't gotten rid of mine but they are barely fitting (*sob* I am no longer a size medium). I ordered 5 pair of pants & 5 tops online last night, I am really hoping the rear-end seams hold out until they get here.
BTW, if anyone is interested in some good sites for cheap name brand scrubs PM me, I have a pretty good list...I got 5 Winnie the Pooh tops (Barco) for
If I worked somewhere that required a specific color I think I could still have fun with it. You can get many of the common colors in some unusual fabrics, saw some (light weight) corduroy ones where you can mix & match fine & wide wale, linen & linen blends, sanded, tencel blend etc.
We can wear anything we want to, and I like my different colors, but I have noticed that the older people like me to wear white (I work in LTC).
I think maybe soon, I'm going to go buy a new pattern and try my hand at making some. I've recently lost 30 pounds (YEA!!!) and my others just hang, don't look to good anymore.
