Hi all, I have been thinking of getting my RN to BSN online? Since i am an associate degree RN .any one ever tried?
i enquired of kaplan online but its expensive and they appear to be hunting me down daily which makes me suspicious
i read reviews online and lots of dissatisfied students
any advise in this slumping economy i am in NY
You don't cancel the FAFSA. If you decide to go to a different school, you just go back in later and change the school. Just because you may have sent it to Kaplan, doesn't mean you HAVE to go there. I changed mine from one school to another because I filed the FAFSA before I definitely made up my mind which school to go to.
It seems to me that the most sensible approach nowadays is to look for a state university or state college online program. They are likely to be much less expensive if you are a state resident. You know where to find them if you have a problem and want to speak with someone face to face. They are likely to be properly accredited. (NO guarantees on that last one; always ask!)
Many state schools across the country have online BSN completion programs. It should not be hard to find one nearby.

I live in New York State and am currently enrolled in an online RN to BSN program. I started out at SUNY Plattsbrugh. I switched to an out of state school. I am enrolled at Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences. The are accredited. I have no regrets. I work full time and have a teenage daughter. They offer trimesters. You take classes year round. I will be done in less than 2 years.
If you are a weak writer, the online programs may pose a challenge for you. I was a journalism major at one time, so this never intimidated me like so many others!
I was a journalism major, too! Back in the day, during my first trip through school. I still love to write, so the RN-BSN program at Chamberlain has been perfect for me so far -- many papers and discussion threads.

HI there. Have you considered SUNY Stony Brook for their RN-BSN program? It's all online. They have a great program. Check them out.
