so this is a random question but i am interested to know what you girls think about male nurses. would you ever date a male nurse? i am recently single and my mom made the comment "well maybe you will meet a nice boy in nursing school". it made me stop and think what did u just say. anyone out there have any interesting stories of dating a male nurse.

oh for pete's sakes! what the heck does a set of dangly downs have to do with a respected and honorable profession???? that's like saying, female cop.....(you know, the nice one with the big boobs???) ugh....

why can't people just see us as people....and not as an extension or appendage attatched to what we do....

just once, i'd like someone to say, "this is so-and-so...." and leave it at that.....what i do for my profession is only one part of what defines me....

i have a headache now...and i need to think about where this thinking comes from and leads to....

crotch luggage?

Actually I find it a little offensive that anyone would make any kind of deal about "male nurse." I hate the term "male nurse." I know if the gender ratios were turned around, I'd be screaming sexism. Its time to get over it - nurses are simply....nurses. BTW I'm female and wish that more men would get into our profession - lots of men. It would change everything.

OMG, I'm SO using that one. LOL. So do you have the versace, the samsonite or the wal-mart version of luggage. LOL.

as long as he's a nice guy, i wouldn't have an issue dating a male nurse. it would great to have someone who understands. i am a teacher now and wouldn't have a problem dating a teacher or someone who worked in education.

if one were to put themselves in that situation, the male nurse would understand the woes and pros of the profession from an empathic stand point versus a guy in another profession. overall, it wouldn't make a global difference but the specific difference is what's noted above.

why is dating a man who is a nurse any different from dating a man in any other profession??

actually they aren't. men of various professions have social statistics associate with them, therefore when dating these statistics may make a difference to some. (i.e. police officers having a higher domestic abuse rate)

men are men, whether they are nurses or mechanics or gymnasts. the fact that a man is a nurse should not mean anything. they are not oddities.

this is true for both sexes. while doing a search for "asians and benzodiazepines", i came across a college lecture on addiction. the list of authors who were alcoholics was abridged, due to length. under scientists who were alcoholics, it said that none were known. scientists tend to dislike mind-impairing drugs.

i could not find this article again, but i did find that it takes asians longer to clear benzodiazepines from their bodies. this was not unexpected to me, since many asians lack an enzyme needed to metabolize alcohol. alcohol and benzodiazepine tolerance is cross-linked.
