What do you think my chances are!?

Published

I took the TEAS today...and... I SURVIVED! Here are my results:

Adjusted Individual Total Score: 79.3%

ATI Academic Preparedness Level: Advanced

Mean - National: 64.3%

Mean - Program: 64.9%

Percentile Rank - National: 87

Percentile Rank - Program: 88

Reading - 78.6%

Math - 80%

Science - 77.1%

English - 80%

My school says you must get "Proficient" or higher and have a GPA over a 3.0 to be considered.

I have a 3.65 GPA and this test score.

What do you guys think my chances are?

Thanks! =]

That looks pretty impressive to me! It's been a few years since I took mine, doesn't that percentile rank mean you did better than 87% of the people who have taken the TEAS nationally?

I know nothing about that particular test, but from the percentile ranking I think you have a great chance at being accepted! Good luck! And your GPA looks wonderful as well.

Kinda. It means that 87% of test takers nationally got a score the same as or lower than mine.

Thank you! I've talked to a lot of people going for the same program at my school. Most of them have TEAS scores a little bit higher than or the same as mine, but lower GPA's. Based on previous semesters, the program puts much more emphasis on GPA than the TEAS. There are a lot of people applying though, and of course I haven't talked to everyone. Seems like I have a good chance. Now I just have to wait!

It looks to me like you have a good chance! At my school, you'd have a pretty good chance of getting in. But it all depends on the school. Good luck!!!

How do you think anyone can tell you if you will be accepted into nursing school? Have you looked at the school you are applying to for their acceptance rate? Some schools have hundreds of applicants and some don't have enough. We are impressed by your wonderful grades, however a person with much worse grades may get into a nursing school in North Dakota and you may not get into a school in Washington DC. Do you understand? There are many variables to getting into nursing school. I think your "chances" are about the same for anyone with similar grades applying to the exact same school. The school can provide acceptance rates if you contact them or look online for them.

Schools have a system in which they assign points for things. TEAS scores get points, depending on what the scores are. GPAs get points. Other things can get points too.

Whether you will get in or not depends on your school. Some schools require a 4.0 GPA in specific pre-nursing courses. Some aren't so picky. Only someone in the school you've picked can tell you what standards are used there.

Ditto that....just contact the school!

I'm not sure why everyone gets so bent out of shape about people asking questions like this! I just applied so I know exactly how you feel and a little bit of encouragement goes a long way. Basically they assign points for the different aspects of your app- your test score, your gpa, your act if required. Have you talked to anyone else that's taken that test? I talked to other people and realized my score was a really good one. That would make you feel better about it. Then try to look at it from a points standpoint. You have a great gpa and the scores look good(I don't know much about them). I'm sure you're going to be in the competition and do fine! Good luck!
