I am just curious what type of TEAS scores are accepted by other schools and how they judge the score. At my school you have to make an 80 or above to apply. It is a 4 yr BSN. I don't know anything more about how they weight it other than that but I am sure there is more to it. I don't believe they look at the individual areas but only at the overall score.
School: Kennesaw Sate University (Ga)
I am taking the Teas test July 9th and I am totally frazzled:idea:.......I bought the study guide for $40 and the math and reading sections are fairly easy, but the Science part terrifies me ugh! I have never had Chemistry or Phyisics of any kind and dont know what I am doing. To everyone who has taken the Teas can you please give me some idea of what to expect for the science portion? Thanks so much!
At UCF (University of Central Florida), this next application period for the BSN (both accelerated and basic I suppose) is the first time they are requiring TEAS. Their website states "Pass the standardized Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS®) with a composite score of 74% or above" with no further specifics besides the website links. Will have to find out whether that's a composite of the entire test or just the reading and math parts. Since no other graduates or current students have taken the TEAS for this school, we don't have an average to go by ... I guess this next applicant pool will set the standard, but I don't know if that is a good thing (!!!!)
I'm also applying to Kennesaw (80%), GBCN says 78.9% (though they say better than the national average which is 72 or 74% so I'm not sure which one they want. Maybe it's their average...West Ga is keeping theirs a secret until after you apply, Clayton State wants a 77% I think, Emory doesn't require it, and Georgia State hasn't revealed their TEAS either (middle of switching from the NET). I got an 85.3 so hopefully that will work!
At Ivy Tech in Indiana (ASN and LPN programs) you must have 80% in Reading, 70% in English and 60% in Math and in Science to be considered and then those scores are rank-ordered to determine who will be offered admission. You can take TEAS three times in two years with at least 30 days in between and use the best set of scores (can't combine best scores from the three).
