  1. Anyone left nursing TOTALLY...what are you doing now?

Wow, really? What I am basing this on is the law in the state of Indiana. Actually, I made a mistake, legally you must have at minimum a BSN to teach LPNs. I am basing this on the Ind. State BON's educational subcommittee meeting minutes from J...

  3. Job

Try jobs within the medical field where you can draw on your nursing experience but do not require any license or certification. Patient Care Technician at a kidney dialysis facility, psych. tech, some states do not require certification for pharmac...
  4. Anyone left nursing TOTALLY...what are you doing now?

If you have a RN you can teach LPNs? If you have a Master's degree maybe, but nothing less than that. A RN with a AS or BS degree may be able to teach a nursing assistant course but not LPN/LVNs!!
  5. dismissed from my ADN program HELP

When I was in school our instructors ALWAYS picked out the most difficult of patients. How else are you going to learn? They told us that in the real world you will have difficult patients, and not just the few you have to care for in school, but a...

At Ivy Tech in Indiana (ASN and LPN programs) you must have 80% in Reading, 70% in English and 60% in Math and in Science to be considered and then those scores are rank-ordered to determine who will be offered admission. You can take TEAS three tim...
  10. You will have to explain this to your state board of nursing, but don't sweat it. I had almost the exact same thing happen to me--unpaid speeding ticket, suspended license, pulled over again and arrested. Except I was on my way to work as a LPN. I...
  11. There is no such thing as a 'minor' felony. If this happened 14 yrs. ago when you were a teenager, I would definitely look into having the charge expunged from your record. If you have had no other criminal problems since then, this may very well b...
  12. Do LVN's really make nothing (minimum wage)?

:banghead:Are you kidding me? Really?? Really!! Who do you know who works 12 hr. shifts, 7 days a week? That's 84 hrs. a week, which means that 44 of those hours would be paid at time and a half (by law, over 40 hrs. is overtime). Your math is REA...
