to buy or not to buy: 1st semester Charity txts
They are working on changing the curriculum. I'm in NAC 1 and my NAC 1 notes are different from the NAC 1 notes from the semester before. I think that they are starting to do things differently across the board soon. Our class is a "test" class. I heard that they were reworking the way they were teaching and organizing the what they were teaching.

Beginning Charity in January - advice wanted
Pharm is not that hard. I just took Basics and Pharm last semester and Pharm was a breeze. Just listen to what she says in class. That is the important stuff ::hint hint::

Charity School of Nursing- Starting Fall 2010!!
I just finished my first semester and it was pretty ruff at the end and I know a few people that did not make it. Just keep up with the work. They are changing the format of everything now so I do not know who I would recommend because you will be getting lectured by the teacher that you will be in clinical with. It is not going to be the same as what we experienced. There were a few people who did well and most I know did average. I was surprised as how general the material on the final was. I personally thought the final was easier than all of the tests, but maybe that is because you have applied all of the information already. Evolve helps and Fundamentals Success book helps A LOT!

anyone hopeing for Charity in Jan '11
i got in in January of this year and we didn't find out until June or July, (maybe even August) so you still have time. You will know that you got in if you get a big packet in the mail. If you just get a small envelope you probably didn't get in. That is a way you can tell before you open it. :)

Charity School of Nursing- Starting Fall 2010!!
If you PM me I'll give you some suggestions as far as instructors go, I can't post names on here. The first week is kind of boring because you have to listen to someone from the library and the computer lab guy and all of these people about stuff that you should know, you should know how to write an email and look up something at the library by now I would think. They have been talking about changing of the curiculum, so I don't know really what they are changing, so what you are doing may not be what I'm doing now. But if they layout of the schedule as far as tests goes, it feels like you have forever to study for the first test, but once the second test comes along you are also starting taking test for pharm and you will have a test every Monday so for a four or five weekends in a row you will probably be studying. It flys by. Stay organized, don't give up in the face of adversity, you can do it. Get the Fundamental Success book they recommend it really helps!

School Nursing in Louisiana?
my cousin is a school nurse in St Tammany Parish. So i know that it is possible. I know that it is not just for one school, but I don't know if it is for a district, the whole parish or what. I know that she has been a nurse for a while in the hospital prior to the school and has her BSN.

Nurses who can't spell
Sometimes I type too fast and miss spell, but I try to correct it. We aren't perfect all the time. I hate the 'U' instead of 'you', etc.

So who do nurses marry or have as civil partners???
my fiance works at a power plant as an electronic technition. i'm still a student, so not technically a nurse yet. my cousin who is a nurse is married to a nurse.

Things you would love to say to your fellow nursing students!
why must you ask questions in lecture that the instructor went over already? If you would have been paying attention the first time you would have already heard her and she wouldn't have to repeat herself.

What grade is "passing" in your nursing school??
77, no less

Boyfriend and school?
I think in any relationship there should be support for each other. I think that you need to reevaluate the relationship. I have been in a long distance relationship for 2 years (we've been dating for 5) we are now engaged. Sometimes it is hard because the only time we can see each other is on the weekends, but sometimes I have to study, but he understands and we try our best and it is not always easy. Bottom line, if he really cares for you, he will support you in everything that you do.

VENT: school still ruining my life after graduation
When I graduated with my Bachelor's, not in nursing, I had a similar problem. My school would not confirm my completion of school so they allowed me to prining off of the internet, but i know that nursing is much more of a control feild and you have to cover all of your bases. Maybe they will allow you to go to the school and pick it up in a sealed envelope? I know most places will give you your transcripts that way.
