What to take in the summer

Published

The summer classes that are going to be offered have been posted. They are offering 2 that i still need for my prereqs. Chemistry and a&p 1. Which is better to take in the summer or are they about the same as far as work load goes. Im a little worried about that because my kids will be out of school also and would like to spend time with them as well. Thanks

I was about to take chemistry 102 over the summer but after talking with 1 of my chemistry teachers this semester, I decided not to take chemistry this summer because of the workload and they meet 4 days a week with lab twice a week. if u feel like you can handle it then by all means go for it but I would rather take chemistry in the fall even though I have to take that along with a&p. I hear a&p is a pretty tough class too but good luck with whatever you decide to do :)

I agree with the above poster, if you can do it go for it! Just remember though if your going in the summer it's probably going to be every day and for about 2 hours maybe longer. If I were you since you have kids I'd wait but, if you want to do it go for it! Good luck!

I would check the college schedule to see when the classes are meeting. I am taking A&P II this summer and the class meets 3 days a week. I am hoping to get into the class that meets from 8-11 and I have a babysitter lined up to come watch my three kids on those mornings. I am concerened about spending time with them, but I will just take my studying to the pool and park and work around them. My current A&P I teacher has warned that classes in the summer are intense and to make sure you know what you are getting into with the course work.

Thanks for the above advice....I checked again for classes today and saw that they are offering Communications so I think I'll take that as I think it will be much easier:)

I'm taking A&P 1 and Chem this summer.

I am taking Sociology online over the summer.

I'm taking A&P 1 and lab, College Algebra, Eng Comp 2, and Public Speaking. I'm getting all of my gen ed classes out of the way so I'll be able to apply for nursing in the Winter Quarter.

I'm taking Physio and Micro, with Psych online this summer. The science classes meet the same two days so I'll be in class from 1-10p those days, plus an hour drive time there and then back.:( And I keep hearing something about APA format for Psych papers. But with my commute and my three kids it's better to take these classes now so all I'll have left is Socio and Philosophy online in the fall. Then done with gen ed! I'm planning on applying in early august for the spring nursing program.

I'm taking A&P II, microbiology and speech. Summer term classes go a lot faster because the term is shorter so you will be covering a lot more information each week. Just keep that in mind for whatever you take.

I'm taking A&P 1 and Chemistry this summer :)

I'm taking Chem and A&P 1 right now. I had a terrible, terrible experience with the Chem teacher, so I'm scarred and biased for life about the difficulty of Chem. Whereas, A&P 1 has been insanely easy, though I may be biased since I've studied anatomy since I could hold a medical book. XD

My nursing program starts either in Jan (apply by Sept) or Aug (apply by May), and I can't afford to wait until Aug of next year to start nursing school. So,.... I'm committing mental suicide: A&P 2 plus lab class, Micro, Ethics, Human Growth and Develop, and (a new req started just this semester) Intro to Healthcare. (x.X)
