What to do?

Hello every one! Im in a bit of a dilemma, atm Im taking 4 classes, two of them which are the ones I need to transfer to a University, And 3 of them which I need for the nursing Program, (Both at the Jc and The Csu.)

After this semester I should be done with the None Science classes for the nursing program (except for communications)

This is were my dilemma starts. My GF got a C in her anatomy class and said it was HARD. right now Im taking a Introduction to Anatomy and Phisiology class just to help me out for next semester. The thing is I am not sure what to take. I am wary about my GPA not being high enough (all together I have a 3.0 gpa, after this semester it should be alot higher) to get into a nursing program, The classes I still Need are Anatomy, Physiology, Chemistry, Micro. These are just for the JC. Along with those I need Philosophy and Stats for the CSU.

I am not sure if I want to attempt two science classes at once since I think Ill have trouble with it especially with 2 labs. And especially since my GF said it was hard by it self.

I was wondering if it would be a good idea to take my LVN prereqs next semester along with anatomy. The College in another town only has 4 prereqs and Ive already finished both of them. Would this be a good idea? Since I am not sure if Ill get into either programs? I mean it wouldn't hurt would it?

As it stands this is my plan for the following year.

Anatomy, Communication, (( Medical Terminology, Nutrition))

Summer Chemistry (Prereq for Physiology but not the nursing program)

Fall Physiology Stats Philosphy

Spring Micro GED classes (still need 2-3 of them)

Does this look like a good Idea? If and when I finish the LVN prereqs Ill apply for LVN school and see if I get in (since there wait list is still two years)

What do you think I should take? Also I will be working and volunteering as well.

    What you have planned out looks like a reasonible load so I would just go for it. I would also apply to all the LVN, RN, and BSN programs that you think may be a possibility for you and even ones that you think may not. You never know what school will accept you until you apply! Good luck!

    If you could take A&P before nutrition, the class would be easier since you learn some of the same things. Medical Term is INFORMATION OVERLOAD!! Seriously, I had an exam every week because there was so much content but its useful(I cant tell you how many times I have BS'd my way through a question since I could breakdown the word). And your GF is right about anatomy being hard but its nothing compared to Nursing school. Here if you got anything lower than "C", they told you not to even apply. Im getting my BSN right now and prereqs were a breeze.. get used to not having a life!

    No its required at my school to take chemistry before physiology. I am not worried about medical terminology I took a course like it in High School and it was easy. (Ironically I could have tested for college credit but I didnt have the money at the time)

    I think you'll be really surprised at how much the science classes overlap. I was worried about taking Anatomy 2, General Organic and Bio Chem 2 and Microbiology at the same time, along with Statistics -- all of which had accompanying labs, but they all really reinforced each other and I think it actually enhanced my learning. Plus...nursing school gets much harder. Many people will tell you not to read your book. I think they're wrong. They will say that there's not enough time to spend it reading, but I have found my test scores are approximately 10 points higher when I have read the material, and I am remember it more than when I don't. Put in the time. I would also use your schools tutoring services. The tutors know how to teach the material better than the instructors in a lot of cases, and can help you reinforce your studying. You can do it.

    I just doubled check I will be done with my prereqs for LVN school by next summer and the prereqs of the Nursing program (and my GE too :D ) by summer of 2014. I have a question though I would have to apply around october correct? What would happen if I get in but Im doing the LVN program already? ( I also decided if I dont get in I might just join the military like I wanted to in high school or go for my paramedic)
