What to study during the summer?

Published

i'm going into my senior year of nursing school and i've been out for the summer since the middle of may. i already feel like im "losing" some of the information i learned, which scares the crap out of me. i dont want to go into the fall semester feeling like a fresh slate all over again! how can i brush up on information that i already learned without having to re-read everything from my fundamentals textbook?? what do some of you do to keep up the learning?

Maybe you could just review your notes, especially in your weaker areas (fluids and electrolytes in my case). If you have an NCLEX book, you can answer questions for practice and read through the rationales. It won't be as bad as you think. Next semester when you get in class it will start to come back and you'll go right back to NS mode. Good luck!

This summer I'm spending it reading two of the "Made Incredibly Easy" books, our teacher recommended them for fall. I graduate in December so I also went through an NCLEX strategies book and typed up some notes on it, so that way when I graduate I can get straight to studying the information. Hopefully it helps out a bit! I would suggest maybe reading over an NCLEX review book and just kind of keep up to date on things. Our college has three campuses and one of them has a nursing lap open during summer so a couple of us are going to head to that one to do a little skills practice. Maybe also keep up with math and review that a bit.
