What do your study spaces look like?

Published

I'm frantically trying to make my work space as pleasant and efficient (and nice looking) as possible. School starts on Monday and I'm still trying to re organize my space to make it work well for me - not an easy task. This may be sort of a dumb post - but I wondered what all of your study spaces/offices look like? You could post pictures if you want or have them or just describe your area :). It might be fun!

My area so far has a craft desk w/all my craft supplies on one side w/a bookcase also dedicated to crafting related items (and a printer).

The other side has my "work desk" with the regular desktop computer and another bookshelf filled w/books my husband and I like to read and some home organizational files and stuff.

I just went out and got a little $20 metal industrial restaurant style 3 tier bookshelf for all of my nursing books/gear/notebooks. I figure that if I don't have a spot for them specifically, it could get disorganized pretty quickly.

What do you all like in your work space? I had to take out my old giant tv to fit in all of this stuff - so it's been making me want a flat panel BADLY. I don't work well in total quiet, but unfortunately that isn't in this nursing student's budget at the moment :lol2:.

Juliannehola- nice study space! Is that a digital photo frame thing? I've always wanted one lol.

As for the images, I upload mine to a server (TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing Video Hosting, then click on the "upload" tab, then "choose file" etc.) After you upload it, an code will be generated for you to copy and paste into the thread. Hope this helps :)

This is such a cute post! I looove looking at everyones study areas! I was going to just sprawl my books out all over the kitchen table but this motivates me to make a cute nutch just for me!

Thanks! That's my iPad actually (but I can use it as a photo frame). Thanks for the tip I'll be sure to try it next time.

Oh my gosh - all your rooms are amazing!! I will have to take a picture of mine once I get it finished today. I've been out shopping for all my last minute NS needs before Monday's am class, so I didn't get around to much.

I got tons of those photo boxes at Hobby Lobby to store all my craft/office stuff and hide it away. I'm trying to get everything else done tomorrow and find time to get my first chapter read :).

You guys are awesome for sharing your spaces and ideas :)

I will likely do most of my studying out in the living room. I have a small book shelf dedicated to just nursing books out there. However, I did manage to clean off my computer desk so that I have space to study here as well. Honestly, I have a feeling that my computer will get used more for streaming instant netflix for work out entertainment than anything else. (The elliptical is right behind me facing my computer at the moment). :lol2:

I feel like such a slacker lol Your study spots are awesome!

My fave study spot is.....wait for it.....my loveseat. It's the perfect length for me to curl up with my legs dangling and my books tucked in around me. My living room is always flooded with sunlight. I love studying in natural light. It keeps me alert. My comfy recliner is good too....but my cat tends to jump from the top of it to directly in the middle of my book when I use it. Gotta love the subtlety of felines.

When I'm doing the endless clinical paperwork I use the dining room table. Again, right by a window with the added bonus of snacks on the table with me. Plus the nosy feline generally won't try to commandeer my attention when I'm sitting there. Usually :D

I just realized.....my poor desk is nothing more than a docking station for my laptops and various gadgets :lol2:

My study space looks like....the library....because that's where I study! :lol2:

If I stay home to study, I end up doing laundry, cleaning the bathrooms, eating...pretty much anything but studying.

Here's my at home study space, not sure how it's going to work out BUT I'm hoping the cozy-ness of it will benefit my brain. Still have an empty shelf there on my new bookcase as I've yet to pick up my books for school. The other books were donated by friends of graduates .... feelin the love!

I tend to do this as well, I've always just dealt with it before. However, I know that nursing school is a completely different ball game! I will switch to the library if distractions at home become too much.

Though nothing is better than sitting on a comfy couch in your pjs with a cat on your side and a book in your lap. :redpinkhe
