What do your school uniforms look like?

Nursing Students LPN-RN

Perhaps this will turn out to be an interesting topic to discuss.

What color/style are the uniforms that you all wear (or have worn) to clinical rotations? I currently attend an LPN-to-RN bridge program. The scrubs at the school that I currently attend are maroon. They consist of a unisex tunic top and unisex bottoms. We have the option of wearing a white warm-up jacket on cool days.

When I was attending an LVN program back in 2004 and 2005, our uniforms consisted of a unisex royal blue tunic scrub top and white pants. We also had the option of wearing a white warm-up jacket on cold days.

OK no I didn't wear a "blue cape" but my aunts did.(lol) And i forgot to mention that we were not allowes to wear any jewelry other than a watch and one pair of earrings(posts only) also our hair had to be above our collar. And yes change is good and I am glad that dress codes have loosened up, the one thing that i do miss is no caps that was one of the proudest days of my life when i recieved that. Yes they did get in the way sometimes but you adjusted I was always so proud to wear mine.

both the nursing programs at my school can choose any style or color of scrubs they want, including patterns!

White! I hate it! Just think marshmallow man from ghostbusters. We wear white bottoms, top, undies, socks, shoes. We can wear a wedding band and one set of stud earings. Tattoos can't show, and if your dog jumps up on you before you leave, forget it! They just don't care, they will soooo send you home. Of course, with the white, inevitably someone wears panties that say "juicy" on 'em, or something like that, and we all get reamed. You would think that they would just let us wear a different color. Common sense would tell us that white is probably not the best color choice for inexperienced nursing students. I keep an extra set in my car after a hemovac exploded on me (good times).

we also wear all white and have to wear a specific pair of white shoes, we must wear white socks that cover the ankles (and have to lift up our pants to show them during uniform checks) and white underwear, no rings unless they're wedding bands/engagement rings, and only ONE pair of earrings that can only be small silver or gold posts. we also, of course, must wear our hair up (during clinicals only...thankfully we're allowed to wear it down in the classroom setting) and wear only clear nail polish. we also have ID badges that e must wear at all times. the good thing is that we also have navy blue polos and hoodies with our program logo embroidered on them which we are permitted to wear in the classroom.

it's a very professional look and it's a very respected school by the surrounding hospitals/nursing homes...but it does feel extremely strict! if you are found out of uniform in any way during a random check, you must go home to fix it and are not allowed back until the next class. sheesh!

I'm LPN student. We wear red tops and gray pants. Same goes for RN students.

Our school is also very strict on uniform policy. We don't get to even wear clear nail polish, or sweatshirts. There is nothing to be put on over the uniform.

I think white pants are not a very good idea. Went for my clinical to a nursing home and one of the nurses there had tiger print thong on. That was so unprofessional :android:

That sounds like torture!!!! Gotta find other ways to accessorize :)

Luckily my school is lenient; 'cuz I'd go nuts with earrings or nails. NUTS.

Grey scrubs with our school patch, a white lab coat, black shoes and hair up with small stud earrings and a flat wedding band. I'm so glad they done away with white a few semesters before me lol.
