not around here.
the hospitals around here don't have any openings...
.....of course that might be because they staff bare bones.
i don't know how they get away with it. :uhoh21:

Hi
I have been reading both in the newspaper and the internet, that in some areas the nursing shortage has resolved and that there are many new grads who can.t find jobs.
There are also many areas, tho, that continue with the shortage.
I think that it also may depend on what areas you want to work in or what specialty.

There is not a nursing shortage...Just a shortage of patient care!

It is so true!!

Isn't that the truth. I think the hospitals around here haven't heard of the current shortage. There are plenty of nurses to go around, the hospitals just won't hire any decent ones or enough of them.

I don't want to contradict anyone here. American recruiters are busy holding job fairs here to bring Filipino nurses to live and work in the US. :)
You're not contradicting me.
We are all aware that there is some overseas recruiting going on.
I am speaking of the specific region where I live

You are right! Just read the website posted by Lizz and I posted my observations here in my country regarding nursing shortage because thats the punchlines of the recruiters " nursing shortage." :)

Do you know which states do they recruit nurses from your country?
And Steak, which state are you in that there is no new hirings? I heard Minnesota has too mnay nurses now.
I am only taking pre-requisites but after I graduate I certainly will move to any place where I can find a job, no matter which state in US (not Hawaii or Alaska though).

Not to hijack this thread but: It's always good to include the area so that you can get some comments from others that are in that area, as well as giving others geographical perspective. I know there are many posts like these when I am always curious as to city/state, etc.
