What do NP's wear

Published

Hello! I am new to AN. I am an eager student who is ready to learn, and I am starting nursing school next year. I currently work in a clinic, and have always wanted to know what do NP's wear? Do they bring a brief case to work? Whats the contents of it? I am just so excited. I hope to be a NP in the future.

Thanks, enjoy your Saturday!

Aw yes but can you gentlemen avoid a black cow on a back country road at 5am? (Thats what I encountered yesterday going to work)...lol

I could cook it and make a lean-to out of its hide while watching Amazon movies and waiting for rescue.

Or I could become Jason Bourne and slip away...

We are a fun bunch, aren't we? Be like us! Don't take yourself too seriously (probably the best piece of advice I've ever received).

My issue is wild turkeys....they're everywhere and they are mean! What kind of dress and equipment can help me deal with these monsters?

Are you wanting to kill them or scare them?

For fear, be noisy, move around a lot, and wear bright colors. For hunting, do the opposite. Blinds and decoys help.

Easy, Guys... I put my pants on just like the rest of you, one leg at a time. Except, once my pants are on, I......

The SICU and CC NPs who work in the hospital I work at all wear light blue surgical scrubs, and every once in awhile I see them in their white coats. The other speciality NPs I know (i.e. Cardiology, urology, etc.), they tend to wear professional clothes and their white coats.

Agree that we need to present a professional image which can vary depending on the care we provide and the environment we provide it in....

However, I still go with my black cargo scrub pants and t-shirt and very comfortable skechers.

With that outfit, I can take on the loose black cow at 5am, the combative hypoglycemic diabetic at 7am, the rude pt who had to wait too long to see me at 2pm and then I can even throw them back on at 2am to go run a fire call....

I just want to scare them. They're aggressive and come after my dog. Loud noises and beeping my car horn does nothing. They are a mutant sub-species. Maybe they are zombie turkeys.

Hey, I could try wearing BostonFNP's Naughty Nurse outfit....that would scare anything away!!!

Try pepper spray. You can find fire extinguisher sized cans. If aggressive, I recommend a 12 gauge.

And a turkey fryer.
