What motivates you to pass NCLEX?

Nursing Students NCLEX

Let's put down our books for a moment and remember our motivations/inspirations to pass NCLEX.

I know that success is 99% hard work and studying, but sometimes remembering what drives us to succeed helps us get more focused in seeing the big picture of this journey.

I am doing this for my parents.. they worked so hard to put me to college. I want to make them proud. I want to be able to start my job.. get my first paycheck and take them out. I dont want to give them the burden of paying another $200 to retake the exam.

I am also doing this because I believe that God put me in this path because He knows that I will be a great nurse. I know I will be a great nurse. :)

Mainly my Family. Passing NCLEX is like a dream come true :)

Mainly because I want to be a nurse.

But also:

Because I would feel very ashamed if I'd failed, my whole school would find out about it and both fellow students and faculty would all be talking about me as the one that failed.

Because it's a hassle to have to go through the red tape to get a second test, you have to pay again, wait 45 days, etc.

Exactly this! It's a wonderful feeling to have it behind you. Speaking for myself, it was a confidence booster and I was proud of accomplishing such a difficult task! It felt good to make family proud as well. Best of luck!! :nurse:

My motivation? I've got so many reasons to pass NCLEX...let's see: (1) I've wanted to be a nurse since I was a kid (2) to show my child that it's never too late to follow a dream (3) for my family who has been encouraging me throughout my nursing school journey (4) so that I can finally leave a job which leaves me unfulfilled and (5) to prove to myself that I am stronger and smarter than I usually give myself credit for.

(5) to prove to myself that I am stronger and smarter than I usually give myself credit for.

Good point. I have to admit, this is one reason I'm doing this. Not to mention our difficult financial position. If this all goes as I hope, I will tell my weird story after the test! :uhoh3:

Finish something that one started. Reach a goal. Obtain a job qualification. Be satisfied with oneself. Lots of good reasons.
