The OP is talking about readings on a dialysis machine, not an IV infusion pump. In some units, KTVO is first recorded KT/V of the month.

kt/V is a measurement of adequacy of an individual dialysis treatment.

Just type kt/v into dogpile.com (search engine) and you should find enough information to keep you happy:nuke:

ktvo means keep the vein open.. using iv fluids...
KVO - keep vein open
Kt/V is a dialysis measurement of adequacy
It is always important to understand the context of the abbreviation. This also shows the point of not using abbreviations unless absolutely necessary.

I've seen KTVO to mean "Keep THE Vein Open".
Perhaps a little inservice on what it is on that machine?

Prmers - my point exactly. Abbreviations mean different things in different specialities. This is exactly whey they should be avoided.
