What kind of shoes do you wear?

What's your favourite brand/type of shoe to wear as a CNA?

I've always worn tennis shoes. I bought a pricey pair of Nike running shoes last year and after 5 hours of standing on my feet-- MY FEET ARE DEAD!!

Does anyone use inserts? Wondering if that might help..

Crocs are my shoe of choice. The ones with holes in them are better because they allow your feet to "breathe" but most facilities don't let their staff wear them d/t infection control issues such as if a needle was to fall through the hole in your shoe or something.

If I wear tennis shoes, then any type of jogging or cross-training shoe works. I love ADIDAS and New Balance, they seem to be most comfortable. Nikes always make my feet hurt.

Thanks for all of your advice! I have foot problems due to running and my orthopedic surgeon recommended the Dansko brand. I start my CNA class here in a few weeks! I'll let you know how they hold up.

New Balance with firm arch supports and gel soles... high arches and family hx of plantar fasciitis, but my feet feel fine!

I wear crocs and find they are very comfortable, and my knees and back haven't been so bad since wearing them.

I second this.

I only wish I could wear crocs instead of heels after I graduate (political science major).

I wear crocs to work, to the store, etc. I find they're more comfortable walking shoes than tennis shoes.

I have MBTs and Z-Coils. The Z-Coils are the best for me. I think they look silly, though.

I switch off between New Balance and Dickies clogs.

i wear nikes with the superfeet inserts. i started wearing these orthotics because i am a runner and i was having right knee pain. after a race i was reviewing my finish line pictures and i caught my right foot pronating. once i started wearing these puppies my knew pain was gone. i liked them so much that i started wearing them in my work nike's as well.
