Holistic Health Assessment
I am really feeling stressed out about this class. I am working on my second week assignments right now and I thinking....what if the person doesn't have issues with a certain category? How are we suppose to write a COLDSPA on them? Are they wanting us to make stuff up? I got beat up pretty bad the first week and I am a straight A student. Now I'm not even sure if I can get an A in the course and I am stressing over every aspect of the course.

Holistic Health Assessment
I also heard somewhere that printing out your tests are helpful for the final. Of course I didn't hear this until after the first quiz.

What happens when they leave the ICU?
Has anyone ever thought, what ever happens to their patients when they leave? Do they go on to live normal lives? Do they make meaningful recovery? Did we mentally give up on our patients too soon thinking that's they were lost causes? Perhaps this is the reason we burn out! We rarely or never see he good that comes out of all the torture we put people though. I want to know that I am making a difference, don't you? Does anyone have a system at their hospital where patients can write in and tell you where they are today? That they made it through rehab and have had meaningful recovery? Send pictures? Please share any ideas for tracking this, I would like to get it started in my unit!

UTA online RN-BSN Spring 2014: Technical Writing
I am starting Spring for the online RN to BSN program! I'm very excited to finally be working on this goal. I am ready to start working my way away from bedside nursing. I am taking Professional Nursing A & B for my first course. I hope to be taking multiple courses at a time in the future though.

Single Parent, Nursing School, and Working can it be done?
I am a single mother of two boys, ages 9 and 4 1/2. I go to school full-time while working 20 hours a week. What you need to keep in mind is that anything is possible if you want it bad enough. She should get plenty of loans and a pell grant if your yearly income is low enough. I am assuming that you are getting financial aid now??? If you want this then go out and get it. Even though it will be a struggle for you and your son it is a step up in life. It will secure your and his future. This is your chance to show your son that a college education is not only important, but obtainable. If you can do it, he will think that he can too! Good luck! Tiff

Waiting for an acceptance letter from Pioneer Pacific College
I will actually be driving an hour one-way. I know it seems pretty crazy, but I sure people have went through worse to get what they want. Of course I could relocate if I wanted to, but for the next term I will just give it a try doing the drive and if I can't hack it at some point I will relocate. I just don't want to give up my job at the really awsome hospital that I work at here. It is the best place that I have ever, ever worked and I don't want to give up the foot that I have in the door the last 2 years. And 30 miles is not too far to travel. Living in the Metro area, you should easily have access to several schools and if I were you I would apply to every stinking one of them. The competition is stiff and if you want you will have to fight for your spot at a CC. This was my 3rd time applying to a CC and my grades were really good. Tiff

Waiting for an acceptance letter from Pioneer Pacific College
My meeting with the director is on Monday. I am very excited and I am hoping that I will be finish in the top 16, so I will be able to choose my time slot. I have my fingers crossed that I get in the afternoon time slot because it will fit best with the rest of my life. Do you get some type of educational assitance from your place of employment? I get $1500 a school year, so that will be taken care of. I just won't feel like things are completely under control until I know that I have the time slot that I want, the school is paid for, and I am sitting in class for the orientation. I am going to PM you my home number. I would love to talk if your interested. Tiff

Waiting for an acceptance letter from Pioneer Pacific College
First of all they would have counted my A&P/Micro... Here were my Grades: AP1:B+ AP2:B AP3:C- Mic:B+ Now because of the the one little minus after the that one C....NONE OF THEM COUNT! I am a single mother with two kids and I figured that Federal Aide would cover the costs of school and they said it pretty much would, but told me to secure a $5000 private loan just in case. The problem with this is that it seems quite pointless to have a co-signer acess their credit without knowing whether or not you will actually need the loan for sure. Afterall every time you apply for something it counts as an inquiry. I feel that they should be a little more up front about all of these things... ...a little bit later. I found out if you are refused a loan that they will make a payment plan with you. Tiffany

Got in...Now what? Really Long
Well I am definately unable to get a private student loan and yes this college is a total rip-off. The problem is that I want to get into school so badly that I don't care. The alternative is that I wait another year retake the two classes that I need in order to get into the RN program at my local CC. I have applied 3 years and haven't gotten in, so that is why I am so desparate. The other thing about this school is that they said that they would accept my transfer credit and then they wouldn't accept ANY of my A&P/MIcro series because I got all B's besides 1 C-. If they would have accepted those classes it would have gave me a $6300 discount. What's up with that? I think that this is just my common sense kicking in and telling me to run.

Got in...Now what? Really Long
So a little more info... I do not need a co-signer for the fin-aid loans. I am already getting those. I am also not trying to borrow for living expenses. The school that I am going to is expensive and that is why they make you borrow addition funds to ensure that you have enough to pay them. Overall, I think that my Mom will cave and do it because she knows how hard I've worked and she's witnessed me make sound decisions and all the hard work that I've done. The big thing that I have working for me is that there has been 3 other times that my Mom has helped me in financial situations and I made regular payments and paid her off within a year or less. So she knows I will pay her back. The thing that is working againist me is the the other kids are sucking the life out of her by being irrespondsible. In the end I know that things will be taken care of it's just the not knowing how or when that is racking my nerves.
