I have been out of Emergency nursing for 6 months. So i'm a new case manager. I am open to case management or ED nursing. I haven't started applying. I wanted to receive information on the job market for Murrieta area. Not 100% sure we are heading that way yet. Thanks for your responses!

Jeeze! It sounds like Murrieta is a tough area to get a nursing job, huh? My husband and I are looking into Murrieta/Temecula. I was thinking about the travel nurse gig, but it would be nice to have something set in stone. Thanks for the advice, I will have to check the hospitals out.

Thank you for your response. I have worked at both a teaching hospital/Level 1 and a regional hospital. I had gained great experience from both. I would not mind a regional hospital... I read an older thread saying that Loma Linda pays and treats nurses horribly? What is it like being a nurse in one of these hospitals? How many patients per nurse? Isn't there a patient/nurse ratio? I believe for the ED it should be according to ESI (Emergency Severity Index-triage) rather than simply "three" patients. If I asked to be paid $45 an hour, would they laugh at me? Do you know what the shift differential is for overnights? (I'm used to working overnights in the ED and enjoy it better than days). Thanks for all your advice. I appreciate it... it would be a huge move coming from the East coast.

Hello, I'm hoping to find out the job market and pay around Murrieta, CA? I have four years experience as an ED nurse. Certified, BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP, and sexual assault nurse examiner. I have a BSN. I currently work for the state as a nurse case manager (started 6 months ago). Will I have an easier time finding a job as an ED nurse or case manager? Is it a nightmare getting licensed in CA? (I heard from co-workers it was) Thanks!

I'm currently in capstone. The instructions are a bit confusing. I'm working ahead because of my work schedule. There is mention of the UTA CON title page, but i'm not sure when I do that other than the journey paper? How are they for grading? I've been working hard on my project making sure my articles are informative and credible. Any advice/tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

This is a rigorous program. If you are not motivated and focused, then this is not the school for you. In regards to "clinical", I specifically chose an RN to BSN program that does not require clinical... i've been an ER nurse for four years... if I needed an RN to BSN program that requires clinical that would be scary to every patient that walks through my ED....If this was a MSN family nurse practitioner program, then absolutely I would demand/expect clinical. Just my opinion...

Hello, I will technically complete the program in a 9 month timeframe, so a year is definitely practical. I worked full-time while completing this program as well.. and mostly took two classes in a row, and towards the end took three in a row... So anything is possible if you put in the effort. I think the RN to BSN program is good. The professors are mostly all pretty decent.. I didn't like a couple of professors, but I guess that's normal to not like every professor in a program. I also have a bachelors degree in history and poli sci so I was required 44 credits to graduate. I'm doing 47 by choice (I know i'm crazy..) but I have a 4.0 and in order to graduate summa cum laude I need 45 credits from UTA. I've busted my butt in this program, so i'm definitely going for the recognition. The teachers are good about getting back to you. I had one academic coach for an english class that wasn't the greatest at responding and grading, but almost all of the academic coaches got back to me fairly soon. I will say that this is a very independent program... the assignments can be a bit vague, so you need to rely heavily on the rubric. If you follow the rubric, you will be fine. Good time management is key as well because some classes require a decent amount of assignments, discussions, quizzes per week. This school is very affordable and I have learned a lot in this program. I will say the knowledge and information gained in this program is significantly more than my ADN. I'm grateful that i'm almost done and decided to go here.

Hello! Feedback for ART 1301 Art Appreciation with the instructor ******** would be greatly appreciated. I read somewhere that it was "more work than it should have been because of a group project with slackers" then I read somewhere else of someone saying they thought it was ridiculously easy and they never completed a project. I'm going to be taking this with capstone, so I do not want it to be difficult... I greatly appreciate any feedback! Thanks!!

Hello! I did! That was a tough class because of the group assignments.. honestly, I spent way too much time on it.. I went through each group member's work each week to ensure they completed the assignment appropriately. There was a "group leader" each week, but I basically was the group leader every week lol. I was very overwhelmed... I hope they only include UTA credits. I asked my advisor a month ago, but he didn't answer my question, but sent me this link.

Summa Cum Laude Latin Honors,  if their overall GPA is 3.900 - 4.000 OR  (their overall GPA is 3.700 - 4.000 and the GPA for their last 45 semester hours in residence is 3.900 - 4.000) If I have a 4.0 for all the BSN classes I have taken at UTA (and I have capstone left), which equal out to be 47 credits. Does that mean I graduate Summa Cum Laude? Or do they take into account my transcript from my other college for my BA and ADN? Anyone know? Thanks!

You will do amazing!! These are all normal feelings. You are making many sacrifices and taking a risk, as all of us did when enrolling in nursing school. My best advice is to study a ton! But also, take time for yourself. Make sure you truly understand the information and don't become one of those students who memorizes everything... that will not help you with the NCLEX or as a nurse. It's a very rewarding career and i'm so thankful I made sacrifices to become a nurse. Are you in a two year or four year program? Also, check out the nursing made incredibly easy books!
