What kind of scheduling do you use at work?

Paper or online/computerized? If you use online, what program do you use, and do you like it? If you use paper scheduling still, are there plans to move to computerized scheduling?

Just curious. At a couple of hospitals where I've worked, we used paper scheduling and I thought it was fine, until I moved to a hospital with online scheduling and it was GLORIOUS. Then I moved to another hospital with online scheduling, but with a different program, and it was not so glorious. I guess it all depends on the software.

We just moved to API and it SUCKS. Before that we used Meditech. We have a central office that schedules for all nursing staff.

YES. API is the not-so-glorious one of which I speak. I used Shift Wizard before that and loved it. API is so bad it's almost worth going back to pencil schedules.

We used Shift Wizard and it was a nightmare. We had somewhat better results with API but still not great and we are still looking for another software.

In my current job there's one other person that works night shift and she has about 20 years more seniority than I do, so we use the scheduling where I work all the nights she doesn't want to.

In my department because it is small with only 4 full timers and 3 contingents we use paper and pencil and do our schedule month to month. On our units we use Kronos to do our schedules. It is online. I do not have access to it. There is a love hate relationship with it.
