What job will you do for your semi-retirement?

For some of you, retirement is just around the corner. Has anyone thought of doing something else part time after you have retired from nursing?

I was thinking it would be nice to work in a plant nursery in the good weather, have a Per Diem nursing job, have a booth in an antique mall to maintain, and also buy stuff on the cheap from Craigslist, and resell for more, after cleaning it up and/or refurbishing.

That would keep my mind from rotting and keep me engaged with the world, at my own pace.

I still don't feel very retire-ish, but I've thought about opening an etsy shop for my knitting designs and becoming a medical interpreter.

True, my Spanish is still less than fluent currently, but I've always loved languages and don't even know how to say "hello" in the other predominant language in my area.

My plan is to write fantasy novels and make enough to quit my nursing job. As much as I enjoy nursing, I've finally realized it wears me out and there is more to life than sleeping and working.

Im a long way to retirement. My dad isn't and he is using that time to spend it with me. Thats the best thing I could ask for.
