Hello everyone. I just finished the whole Kaplan Qbank with an overall score of 60%
Here are my scores on the Sample Tests:
1- 48%
2- 46%....... a hundred (sad facies)
3- 78%
What do they signify? And the strategies, I have been using them and was able to eliminate the 2 obvious wrong choices, but I always pick the wrong remaining answer. Am I stupid or what?
I am getting nervous since my exam will be next week. Sample test 1 and 2 really slapped me in the face.. lol
Please be honest with me here guys.thanks suggestions are appreciated.
I think it depends on what kind of discipline/home environment you have. My classmates and I were mixed with Kaplan--some of us did it online and others did it in the classroom. Some people needed the classroom instruction as they had children and that worked better for them. I personally enjoyed doing it online and being in the comfort of my own home. I'd highly recommend it. I tested yesterday with 75 questions and found Kaplan very helpful.
Best of luck!
Hi!! When do you plan to take the tesr?hi everyon!!i just read thru everyone's comments and i wanted to say CONGRATS to all that have passed!!! you all are very encouraging and motivating. just reading these messages has helped me so much. i can't imagine the feeling! i take my test on feb 6 and i'm freaking out a bit... but i think thats normal haha but i just wanted to get some input on my kaplan scores from everyone that has passed the nclex....diagnostic - 59 (took this before any studying)QT 1 - 57QT 2 - 53QT 3 - 48 (ahhh!!?) QT 4 - 61 readiness - 63 (our teacher had us complete this by the last day so we could go over the results)my Qbank average right now is 56 with only 48% used. i'm really nervous and i dont know what i should do i have the next week and half to study and i am just wondering what you all would suggest to focus on? i still have all of my qbank and QT tests left, as well as the 3 practice exams.... i also have a saunders comprehensive book, lachairty book, lipincott comprehensive book and access to ATI practice exams online through my school. i feel overwhelmed with all of the resouces so which one would you suggest is best matching to NCLEX? thanks for your comments and support in advance i really need it right now
hi!! thank you so much for writing back and giving me encouragement! that makes me feel better that your scores would be low sometimes... because i would get down on myself when i would get a really low score. but i have been similar to you where then the next day i will get a higher score. but no scores in the 80's yet!! i have been reading all of the rationales and re-writing the information from the rationales and going over any content that i needed to brush up on... but i feel like i keep forgetting everything or that my mind is so full that i can't retain anymore! haha. i haven't used much of the lacharity book... i saw great reviews online but when i did a few questions the rationales didnt make that much sense. i think i will stick with kaplan q bank and trainers.... from the sounds of it you both really recommend it and you both passed!! my test day is Feb 6th... so only a little over a week to go!! ahh thanks again i really appreciate the links and tips! i will keep you updated!!
@YDRussel thank you for the study guide link... i found that in anotehr post and have been reading it here and there but plan on reading it all the way thru a few times before the test!
@littleone16 thank you so much for the link to the delegation information... i havent read that before so that is really helpful!!
congrats again !!
Hey guys i'm currently doing kaplan also and i'm getting low low scores:
diagnostic: 57%
qtrainer 1= 56%
qtrainer 2= 61%
qtrainer 3= 51%
qtrainer 4= 57%
qtrainer 5= 58%
qtrainer 6&7= gonna wait until 2 weeks before my exam which i plan to take around 2/15 maybe
readiness= 66%
qbank= 53% (with 41% complete)
it's so discouraging and i'd like to know if anyone got scores as low as mine but passed the nclex? I'm only using the kaplan rn course book to read. Planned to read saunders but it's too much reading. Ahhh i'm so scared cause you all have higher scores than me!!
hey littlemocoity...
i don't know anything about Hurst Review... so i am not sure how much two sections are but i have heard that doing anywhere from 150-200 a day is a good aim.
some days i dont make it to that number and only do about 50-100 but i also do a little more content review those days as well.
sorry hope this helps!?
when is your test date? mine is feb 6th
hey watermelon21
from the sounds of it your scores are good! they are bettert than mine! it is really discouraging tho about having the low scores. i talked to my instructor about the scores and they said to aim for a 65-70 average but she said "kaplan over prepares you" so if you are that close you are doing great! i haven't taken the nclex yet...so i know im not really answering your question but i would like to know the same thing! im so nervous!
oh well then i am sure that is good... maybe do a few tests that are at least 75 questions. and i know our instructor said to at least do one or two that have 265 questions so if we do end up having to sit there for all of those questions we aren't overwhelmed! ugh i hope the 50s is good enough.. i currently have a 57% average and i've done 51 percent. im trying to stay positive which its really hard... for a while i was getting really bad scores because i was getting so down each time i took them or i was going too fast and not really reading the questions. but my husband said i need to stay postive and since then i've had a 73, 60, 64 and 66 on all my q bank tests!

Hello Everyone,
I recently failed the NCLEX using the HURST review, and Iam currently debating on taking kaplan. Which option is better the classroom anywhere, or the live classroom lecture. I really need to pass this time. Any advice would be appreciated..Thank you.
